Got another question - does that change the way AI handles unit maintenance so that once their gold becomes 0 and have negative gold per turn, their units will disband just like ours instead of reduced science rate or this mod doesn't touch on that because.....you never thought of this or not possible to change?
As I've notice some players with huge negative gold per turn and 0 gold in reserve and still have a huge army, meanwhile if I had 0 reserve and negative gold per turn, all my units would disappear....seems a bit unfair.....
As fore controlling the AI, ok so I got that running so what do I do now? How do I control one of the AI players to see their resource use and any other bonuses they get for free?
If I recall correctly that was the bonus they receive on prince. They don't get that bonus if you drop it down to chieftain. I wasn't aware that they auto-spawned units on declare war. I've never seen it happen, I even played with full map view, so I'm not sure if what you saw happening was a result of them switching build priorities, using their gold to purchase, or some other mechanic.
That said I have no idea how to change it if they are cheating that way. I haven't been updating this file, so I don't know if it still works.
Hahahaha, that's a pretty good analogy - playing chess against a 5yo with you missing your queen and bishops, and his 8 pawn pieces are all replaced with queen pieces.

I might have to disable fog of war and reveal whole map too somehow, to test that out, and see if the AI really does insta spawn an army of millitary units upon them declaring war on you....
@ Mitts 3 Jul, 2012 @ 11:43am
Hahahah, well you did refuse their proposal and now paying for it when the other nation declared war on you and only you, with the instigators not helping you one bit....
Wait, AI can have two millitary units on one hex tile??
@ Evalis [author] 10 Jul, 2012 @ 6:32pm
Whoa, you must be good if you can do a 10V1 fight.....I can barely survive a 3V1...let alone against 10!
@ Evalis [author] 5 Jul, 2012 @ 7:11am
The insta auto spawn units on declare war?! That's so bullshit! Now wonder where those sudden 10 units came from when I had spec'd out their land before they declared war on me!
How do I remove that extra 15% unit maintenance reduction, half upgrade costs and extra bonus against barbarians for a 100% No cheating AI mod?
Wait, the three that the AI still receives, 85% production cost to build any units, 60% extra damage against barbarians and 50% unit upgrade costs - is that what we get too or is that something you decided to leave in just to give the AI a fighting chance, in which case, technically, this mod should be called "Almost no cheating AI" and not "No cheating AI" ....?

In addition to any adjustments based on difficulty the AI recieved:
12 Default happiness Instead of 9
1 Extra happiness from luxury resources
60% Unhappiness from both cities and population
7 Default unit Support instead of 5
3 Unit support per city instead of 2
50% Road maintenance
67% Unit and building training costs
95% Research Costs
67% Culture per policy costs
Attitude with other players +1 instead of -1
The above have all been readjusted
The AI Still recieves:
85% Unit build costs (on prince)
60% Barbarian bonus (instead of 33%)
50% Unit upgrade costs
All other issues related to difficulty, such as free units, free techs, faster (or slower) build or research costs have been unaffected.
Dunno what level you played at but they definitely don't retreat after two units die. I got swamped with 15 that came out of nowhere, I killed maybe 3 or 4 and they just kept coming so your piece of information is obviously incorrect....
The insta heal is from them saving up their promotions, instead of spending it on a longer lasting feat, they save it and not improve the unit and when you attack and make their health drop below 50/100, they use up their insta heal and instantly heal by 50 points. And they might have a stock of these depending on what level they are. So make sure to kill them outright then to leave them be and defend or retreat as they'll use their scummy instaheal option.... hahaha
What's the list of cheats they use to top us on a prince difficulty game which is supposedly the difficulty the game is meant to be played without getting into bragging rights for beating it on higher difficulties or being a big baby for playing on the easiest setting? Is it just extra gold, happiness and support or is there more? What's support? Is that extra starting units? Or something else?
thanks for this, Alexander cheats his ass off every game i play.
If it is crashing solo you should resync your files with steam. You could post the crash log but.. I'm not promising when I'll get back to you on that.
AI default is a new implementation with brave new world. They adjusted some of the AI routines and it is now more intelligent (I presume) and as such they took away a large chunk of the super bonuses it was getting from cheiftain. They still get a bit of a boost, but not as major. Which means.. if you are experiencing the computer being a tougher opponent when using this mod, it is because they are smarter!
