this looks great i made a train of all the trains in TF and it looked great on them thank you for making that are you looking to refine it more or you happy with how its come out? (seriously thanks you though have you considered making other countries flags like to more ornate and/or coats of arms from around the world?just a thought)

Next weekend's come early - or perhaps I have a Tardis! Here's a first version of a union flag logo with black frame and gold lining between the colours. They're all rectangular at the moment so let me know if you need them square or circular for e.g. coaching stock. I've tested it on a couple of trains and the emblem looks good on BR intercity coaches! The logo on a tender, such as the Gresley A3, could perhaps be bigger but it would mean stretching the flag horizontally and may look out of proportion.

wow thanks

OK Matt, thanks for the input - it always helps to have a design brief for these things. I'll try and get something up for next weekend, possibly sooner.
matt.kirk 23 Feb, 2019 @ 12:30pm
if i could chose anything id pick the union jack with a black frame, not waving through the air just flat if possible (i dont know what this would look like mind) but with gold lines seperating the colours in the flag
also cheers for getting back me :)

Haven't done anything with this for a long time, but I'll look at doing a union flag over the next week or so. Did you want just a union one or St George's, St Andrew's etc? Presumably a flat appearance if it's for the side of vehicles - rather than one that looks as if it's waving in the air - and with or without a frame? If frame, I'd suggest white rounded rectangle.

There are very few British locomotives - past or present - and I hope someone will, at some point, create them. Beyond that, most rail enthusiasts (in the UK at least) tend to have their favourite pre- or post-grouping company. Despite the lack of relevant locomotives, they can at least display that company's logo if they wish to.

Okay, thankyou very much for your help. Hopefully your transport fever will come back as this mod is very nice indeed.

I no longer play this game as it takes forever to load (even on a system with 16Gb RAM) and is very laggy. I believe the logo device is hidden in the finance/loan window. If you click on the tabs I believe one should give you a scrollable list of logos that you can then select to add to your vehicles.

I would just like to say that this mod is very well done, finally some English logos for the Scotsman! I may sound a bit stupid in asking this but how do I add the logos to the locomotives in the game? Is there supposed to be a menu when you click on the train?
:steamhappy:

I'll have a look to find an NER logo/crest to add, although I haven't been playing this recently due to the lack of British rolling stock (all seems to be German/Czech) and graphics lag once you start building up networks and cities. Have gone back to modding Fallout 4 instead! :)
Centurion 25 Jan, 2017 @ 4:25am
Just a suggestion, but why not add in the NER? It's responsible for a lot of the ECML and some of the most iconic stations

There are certainly articulate/joined multiple units in the game and if a pair of bogies overlaps the join between two carriages, then that means a quad-arts set should be possible. Of course that's sadly not something I know how to do.
DPT Wanderer 7 Dec, 2016 @ 6:46am
in the terms of quad-arts they like the modern perma connected coaches have a boige under 2 coaches right ? if thats the case then the games modeling for perma connected coaches might allow that due to the TFV in game i remember it haveing bogies under 2 coaches
DPT Wanderer 7 Dec, 2016 @ 6:44am
thank you for replying and clearing that up for me

Glad you like the GWR logo - I realise there were different forms of the button but with a general knowledge of UK railways - rather than Western specifically - I just picked what scaled down the best.

I'm waiting for some talented people to release some more British locomotives - I would like to see a Deltic and the streamlined LMS Coronation class with a rake of matching stock. Some varnished teak would be good too, although I think the game's modelling may prevent a proper quad-arts set being made.

The UK & Ireland pack - which is very good - has LNER lettering like mine but features a black plaque with LNER on it and this is used as the emblem for coaching stock. The position of the logo/emblem/lettering on the graphic template denotes which position it appears on the various vehicle types. I've designed mine primarily for railway usage so they may not look quite right on road vehicles perhaps.
DPT Wanderer 5 Dec, 2016 @ 4:06am
are there multi designs i have noticed on the one for LNER that if there is not enough space for LNER it is replaced with a small plate on the side of stuff ?
Quince99  [author] 23 Nov, 2016 @ 3:58pm
Thanks for that - glad you like them. They're not perfect and I've bluffed my way on the 3D-style lettering but in the game it looks convincing! ;)

Still looking to add some more - missing Southern Railway from the grouping era at the moment.
God of Anger 23 Nov, 2016 @ 3:14pm
Great stuff, just wanted to say thanks for the awesome logos!
Quince99  [author] 21 Nov, 2016 @ 11:57am
Finally - LMS and LB&SCR - next one probably GWR if I can find the font!
FusedCircuit 20 Nov, 2016 @ 12:01pm
But please LondonBrightonSouthCoastRailway please
Quince99  [author] 20 Nov, 2016 @ 4:48am
The UK & Ireland pack is excellent - it already includes an LNER logo so I don't need to do that one!
FusedCircuit 19 Nov, 2016 @ 8:38pm
And also search up " UK & Ireland Logo Pack " in search engine :)
FusedCircuit 19 Nov, 2016 @ 8:24pm
Please at least LondonBrightonSouthCoastRailway ?
Quince99  [author] 16 Nov, 2016 @ 3:57pm
I'm not a graphics person really - more Fallout 4 worldspace design - but I'll assemble a list at the weekend. These will include (assuming I can find good basic images from which to work): LNER, GWR, LMS and SR. Others like GNR, GER, S&D, LBSCR will depend on the info I can grab from Mr. Google and whether I have fonts similar to those used for the original lettering. The sunshine style drop-shadow capitals are relatively easy to reproduce, but some of the more ornate Edwardian scripts may be tricky.
Quince99  [author] 15 Nov, 2016 @ 4:01pm
I'll have a look at pre-grouping logos at the weekend. I'll also look for a decent high res image of the Cycling Lion version too.
HexAyed 15 Nov, 2016 @ 10:38am
Nice, Good for them Steams and early diesels
