Hi everyone, thanks for trying to play this. I made this mission a long time ago and I feel like game updates have broken the intro since then. I no longer have ArmA installed and even if I did life for me has changed a lot since then so I will struggle to ever find the time to fix this, but I will try.

NICE, got kill immediately at the beginning while playing coooooool animation, could the mission on the workshop use less cool/Hollywood staff?

I feel like this has a lot of potential as a great mod, but I wouldn't know from the starting moment considering I start in a room with a dude immediately aiming his gun at me while I'm stuck in an animation. Even if I put on that invulnerability cheat for a second, he pops off a bunch of shots alerting the entire base, which ruins the "stealth" option I was hoping to go for. My recommendation is to start the character off in a cell or at least around a corner from a guard so that they can get out of any animations you force them to start in before having to deal with enemies on future mods.

@Vince, the chopper is scripted to continue circling, the only reason it wouldn't come back is:

1. the pilot crashed
2. the chopper ran out of fuel after hours of circling
3. you didn't wait long enough for it to reutrn before giving up

Either way, if the chopper is dead all you will need to do is pick up the rocket launcer and you'll automatically complete this task, if the chopper is hung up on a tree somewhere then welcome to Arma!

nice mission, details were well done. But I didnt encountered any Viper team, though it was better to not see them as they are tough!

Nice mission, I love jungle firefights ! However but the chopper comes when I reach checkpoint area before I get to the tower makes some circles around then flies away... Doesn! t come back... Also I checked the airstrip, nothing to be found there...

1. Push escape as soon as the mission starts
2. Type "player allowDamage false;" without the quotation "" marks in the console
3. Click the 'local exec' button
4. Close console
5. kill guard
6. Repeat steps 1-4 except change false to true in step 2.
7. Play mission

If you move then the gaurd will notice and shoot you, you can move before the animation is complete. Let your character collect a pistol from the corpse, then shoot the gaurd with it, like I have done hundreds of times during testing and 15 times five minutes before posting this comment.

@Reothadh yeah I'm basically convinced you're one of those people that leave false comments on missions pm that it looks like the mission is broken pm nobody plays it, especially after I tested it before replying in case a new game update had changed something and broken it and I still had no problems. If you're not just trying to troll then it's you, not the mission that is the problem, try shooting them first. ;)

@niezgoda.p haha no worries mate, thanks for reporting though, once I left out a playable character so I wouldn't put it passed me to forget something like a launcher! :) And there is nothing worse than having something like that and nobody tells you about it.

@bertware if you wish to go awol then don't be surprised when you get places and they are unrealistic. That town 10 km away, it's not going to have people living in it. That timbermill, nobody is working there. It sounds like you had an idea of how you wanted this mission to go and now you're pissed that the mission you had in mind didn't happen. Read the tasks, complete the objectives, have fun.

FYI the next mission I am about to publish is going to tick all the boxes for you. In the meantime why not try playing the mission you have, not the mission you wanted, then it's sequel mission if following the plotline is worth anything to you instead of harassing me for not remaking an old OFP mission for you.

Except everyone would expect the POW to head for the forest. Enemies would start a large-scale search there, trapping the POW. A large but insecure base would be the best place to rearm for a skilled unit. Lots of stashes but only few guards to secure it. The minefield is limited, meaning getting around is easy. The best option there, getting away with a chopper (not unrealistic, was even a mission in the original OFP or OFP resistance), would allow you to take out enemies using onboard weapons, or to flee to safe (high) ground. Mission intel clearly stated no AA was present, which makes heli escape a perfect getaway.

@bertware Just tried to replicate your issue and I had no trouble damaging the helo when it was sitting at base by shooting it with one AA missile.

tbh I didn't bother dressing up the airport as it's a waste of time for the player to go there instead of following the mission objectives. There is absolutely nothing of value in touring the islands facilities, plus I imagine that it is so unrealistic that an escaped POW would immediately head to the most populated base on the island (after crossing a minefield no less!) instead of escaping, which would completely break the atmosphere. No POW in real life would ever be that stupid.

Made it to the airport, found the chopper (unguarded?), chopper is invincible. Nice mission until the invincible CH49 totally broke the atmosphere. Nothing is invincible in real life.

@sandersusmc just did a complete play through with no issues start to finish off the workshop version of the mission (not loading up my editor version, the actual version published on steam right now). You are either:

1) Not fulfilling a prerequisite, which is having a radio in the right inventory slot (that means not in a backpack, actually in the radio slot) & climbing to the very top of the tower (walking around on the platform).

2) Just having a troll (in that case well played sir).

@sandersusmc you need to have a radio in your inventory and then climb to the top of the communication tower, then a scripted event with some 10/10 voice acting (lol) will occur.

If this doesn't happen then can you put in a bug report in the discussion section please.

I never know if I have hit the right balance of difficulty/challenge/fun because I know exactly where every unit is on the map so it's something I can't play test for.

It's good to know it worked out exactly as intended.

@Mandaloin yeah I have heaps of those moments where I see something interesting in a mission and then spend hours trying to recreate it. I never want to do that to anybody.

Thanks so much for providing the original file for this. It's so hard trying to figure out how missions are made and this makes it that much easier. If only more mission makers did it too.
