Sounds like you should get a mod that increases the amount of ascension perks you can get. I personally run with 40 slots.

fair neough, but since I tend to play with alot of modded origins and extra traditions, I generally unlock genetic engineering after getting 8 traditions and as such I can't unlock the ascension perk.

Yeah no worries, it's your own mod at the end of the day, you decide wether you update or not.

That being said, I was just confirming that it doesn't work.

Also I am retarded irl and have no clue how to mod whatsoever.

All I can suggest is going in and trying to change the defines yourself. A lot of real life problems are hitting me, and I can't update this for now.

Sadly, this doesn't seem to work on 2.0 as far as I can see, although I only tested it on an existing save so it may be that!

Is this 1.9 compatible? this is the only real mod that does anything like this and its a MUST HAVE for any kind of 'superior creator' playtrough

Thanks mate, I can't believe the devs havent fixed it for vanilla. By the time you unlock a trait or 2 your population is massive and its inconceivable to actually implent to all your species.

Not sure if it's the mod or if it's the game, but I'm noticing that with some species, it goes rampant with genetic engineering, creating small groups of one species with a single trait change, never the climate preference though. It's probably driven by migration, but I don't know what exactly is going on there,
