@Cob It's been a while, but the M60 has its own convar for reserve ammo which is usually set to zero. Just setting that to -2 does the trick. Also, for your other question, go right ahead. Idc really if you edit it for yourself. In the description I said this was originally for my own personal use even, since most other infinite ammo mods at the time changed weapon ammo types to the pistol/magnum, but figured I'd put this out there as a breakaway from that 'standard'.

Kudos and thank you for a simple mod that works. I see so many reviews saying it doesn't work and i must say that it makes me sad how many people will comment negative before ever trying to figure out what THEY might be doing wrong. this mod works flawlessly for me except when i try to use my god mode mod, and that isn't an issue because there are other god mode mods that give infinite ammo. so i say stop griping about things that are your own fault because you have a mod conflict, and just choose between the 2 that are conflicting and move on. if you don't like a mod you don't have to use it but putting it down over something that isn't the mod's or the mod dev's fault is bs and only causes developers to stop sharing their wonderful mods with us

That was my guess, as a couple mods I used before, got disabled by steam after, the Last Stand update. Thanks for the in-depth explanation.

I've no clue why it wouldn't work anymore since it's just hidden console commands. And if what Coach said is accurate about ammo mods being disabled, that just seems dumb and nonsensical since they don't even work in multiplayer anyways unless the server host uses it. So all it accomplishes is just ruining it for everyone regardless of what mode you're in.

To be fair, I think it can probably be argued that infinite ammo for guns also trivializes the game, even if you still need to reload.

4 years late with including throwables...really shoulda tested that stuff much sooner lol. Pipe bombs, molotovs, and bile jars all have respective ammo cvars that work about as expected.
At least my insane delay gave me the chance to see the changes to the gamemode.txt from the game's latest update.

I don't even know what that is or what that has to do with Left 4 Dead 2

Excuse me guil...whatever your name says. First, don't caps lock. Second, it would only not work if you have some other mod that edits the gamemode.txt files at the same time. So don't shout at me about it, especially since I'm not about to go fiddling with other kinds of junk to make things compatible.

@Sasha That's because this edits gamemode.txt, just as 'most bot mods' do. I did this for the sake of having infinite ammo without compromising a weapon's effectiveness like editing weapon files to use pistol or magnum ammo does. There's not much I can do to fix the conflict

Okay so after poking through that Ammunition Optimizer Supreme edition add-on's files (which I used to like using for its infinite reserve ammo lol), it actually still does get the infinite reserve ammo effect by changing the weapon scripts' primary_ammo functions to use the pistol and magnum bullets, leaving the ammo weapon max commands the same as how the Standard has it. So I guess I'm the first to not use this method??? XD

Well, the reserve ammo on M60 in this addon is also infinite XD so probably yes. Either way, I'm glad that you are able to use this with RWA without any problems

The Necessary Optimizer part may cause problems, setting a reserve count for each weapon. I don't really use RWA so I wouldn't have known this off the top of my head.
