What a blast! Awesome map, both puzzle-wise AND of course visually. Highly underrated workshop gem.
Big Boys only, well that's true. Obviously I'm still in my Portal teens... I was struggling for almost 90mins and had to give up on the move when you obtain the new cube by crossing the funnel . The move criticized by some others is ok for me. (cube jump)

By all means, this map has some great moves and rewarding maneuvers, especially at the final sequence. And even though I couldn't solve it completely on my own, it's not just a huge thumbs up  but also a fav! <3

This test was super difficult, took me some days. I see the amount of effort that was put into this test, the puzzle itself, and the whole aesthetic and design of the map. Thank you so much for creating this map, and I can't wait to solve more of these in the upcoming mod. Keep up the good work!
RedstoneParadox 13 Feb, 2022 @ 6:37pm
I agree about the cube jump. I made several attempts to grab it before I just used noclip to bring it with me.

A pretty hammer map, it's a shame that i played the original PTI version first instead of this. Nice work as always !

Incredible work, both the mind-bending puzzle & the outstanding aesthetics. It takes the Wheatley theme from the campaign and really kicks it up a notch. I attempted the map about 4 times over the course of 6 months, each time getting a chipping a little more away, before finally figuring it out. It never got boring & was satisfying to the very end. I can count at least 5 major "ah-hah!" moments (a map is good in my book if it has just 1, so way to go!) I personally loved the cube jump move, I was aware of the move from several other hard maps but this is easily the best use of it I have seen. Thanks for creating such a masterpiece! Easy favorite.

Great puzzle! Perhaps it wasn't best to play Lite first, but I quite liked this version, though it took me a bit to remember the existence of the rising platform in the exit's partition.

As always, the visual work was very well done - I particularly liked the touch of adding various warning strips on surfaces.

I'll echo what SunnyOst wrote and say I'm a bit disappointed in the cube jump.

Everything up to that point was great.
SunnyOst 23 Aug, 2020 @ 6:25pm
So just like Mikeastro, I decided to finish the level after a while of avoiding it. And everything is great about the level and puzzle, except the cube jump , which sucks ass big time in comparison to the rest and really ruins it for me. Feels more like cheese than an actual logical solution, would half stairs or something instead change the puzzle? No thumbs down, but certainly no thumbs up from me :/

Some two years ago I tried very hard to solve this puzzle, but at the time I just couldn't do it. Yet I wouldn't admit defeat, so I never looked at the solution video. Now, with a couple hundred more hours of experience with the game, I finally dared to return here, to finally slay the demon that lingered in the back of my mind all this time. Today I solved it in about an hour. Seriously good puzzle, superb logic. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for this ultimate feeling of triumph.
@Stract, if you're reading this, I have finally beaten your full workshop. I'm looking forward to Desolation very much :] This map was truly beautiful and perfectly hammerised.
and @RedSilencer, you evil genius... fantastic work. Cheers

@RedSilencer What mod are you referring to in your most recent comment?
Leo 4 Aug, 2018 @ 11:09am
Awesome puzzle! I was solving it at a decent pace then got stuck, then worked it out backwards. I used a slightly different method from that shown in the solution video towards the end but it was a bit hard to execute. The intended solution is way cooler and clerever. Big thumbs up!
RedSilencer  [author] 21 Jul, 2018 @ 2:36pm
@Arrxnov This is the kind of puzzle you'll see in the mod, just not as hard as this. And by hard, I really mean that this puzzle simply has a longer sequence of steps in its solution that, if you fail 1 step, you have to revert to an earlier puzzle state, than you'll likely see in the mod. In other words, the puzzles in the mod will be more forgiving than this. That's sort of what most people refer to when they speak about difficulty: the length of the solution. Granted, this particular version of this particular puzzle is a little out of date for visual and functional optimization, so you'll definitely see better quality of maps in the mod, for sure. Believe me, the puzzles and their visual designs in the mod will be really really good. ;)

This is the kind of thing I hope doesn't make it into a mod. This was insane. You can have an upvote whenever I actually get out.

Also, I was noclipping around and I found this in the observation room that you can't portal into:

I like some of the changes from the original Puzzlemaker version (removing some connections, better antlines for the airlock area). As usual with your maps, the hammer work is some of the best I've ever seen. Puzzle is still brilliant. Thumbs up and favorited.

Excellent :steamhappy:
Of course added to favors!

Holy shit "big boys only" is right. To be honest I had an easier time with Facade, just goes to show the miracles of tge human mind. Fantastic puzzle though, paired with the usual gorgeous hammer work.

10/10

Crazy map took me a while I did everything as intended but got stuck far into the puzzle soon after getting the second cube, the only part I didn't solve was the standing on the cube and jumping with the cube into the funnel part, everything before and after that I did on my own I had to check the video, I was going insane. I spent probably 3-4 hours on this one. It's a very well made map, it gets a thumbs up from me.

Great puzzle, but guess I'm not one of the "Big Boys" as I got completely stuck about towards the end and had a peak at the play-through: I'd forgotten the piston platform that raises you into the funnel :steamfacepalm: ho hum!

I was getting tired and was about to stop playing the maps in my queue but I had only this one left so I started it. I was wowed by the visuals in the beginning but then I got to the fizzlers area. I looked around and suddenly remembered that I've played the original puzzlemaker version. Nope! - I said and turned off the game as fast as possible.
That original version took me hours! I'll play this one another time.

This is a very well done puzzle. I thought this was a remake of:

Nope. I was wrong. This was way more than I could handle normally. I am very out of practice with this game. :steamfacepalm:

What do you mean "reflex thing" ?
Mapboi Pete 13 Dec, 2016 @ 9:28am
the whole reflex thing isn't my cup of tea, but it was a really good looking map, great job!

It could use some auto-save triggers. Perhaps with every interaction of a button or laser?

Great puzzle, nice to play it again.
I did find one small bypass.
Almisuifre 22 Nov, 2016 @ 5:42pm
Hard to think in the middle of a such beautiful map ;) Smooth lights, precise details, great atmosphere. Puzzle is interesting because of its "circular" logic, each following step contains a risk of a return to the previous one. It keeps away easiness because many wrong choices are possible, but they only result in a small jump to the past :)

Let's suggest a slower cube spawn, and a visual mark for the fizzlers step
One of the last step is maybe hard to guess for a new player, but also an opportunity to learn it...

Well, very enjoyable to observe and solve !
Maxdragonn 22 Nov, 2016 @ 4:17pm
Awesome! you did a very good job on the wheatley style of test chamber.
