How the infinite ammo was done works in all source games btw. It's pretty much coded into the Source engine, -2 for whatever reason chosen to be the magical 'infinite ammo' value. It's just, harder/more tedious to do in Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 since the ammo commands are hidden.

sv_infinite_ammo 1 will make you have never ending clip, this makes it a little more challenging by still needing to reload every one in a while.

Infinite Ammo, but reloading is required.
