Okay, then you will have to update the detailcolor files in the Snowy Mountain mod from .tga to .dds then overwrite mine. If you can open them in GIMP, you can see which files were changed.

Snowy Mountains doesn´t have a level colors file unf., only detailcolor and nrml tga´s in textures as well as a terrain_gen.fs in shaders.

I forgot something ! ... the Level Colors file in the Ground Textures folder, ... just change/ overwrite the one in my mod file with the one from the Snowy Mountains mod, ... I think that is the only file that was changed and it is still in .tga format.

Thanks, i will try this.

Yeah, seems the mod is outdated. Do you know how to convert .tga files to .dds format? You can use Gimp to do this easily enough, plus it is freeware. Basically you are just loading in the .tga image then saving it as a .dds file.

Make a note of the compression format used for the .dds ground textures (DXT5) and create "mipmaps" when you save it. You might have to resize the images to 2048x2048 pixels then convert it (I don't use that mod so I have no idea what was altered other than the Ground Textures)

@gax: I think so, there are 2 "track only" mods that also enhace the rock textures:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=832320930

The "alternate" way to combine the "snow mountains" and the "ground textures" mod would be to manually overwrite the snow mod files over my ground texture mod. The files are located in the "res/textures" folders of each mod.(make sure the 'snowy mountains' mod uses .dds textures or it wont work)

I can not do this and submit it to the workshop as the snowy mountains mod belongs to someone else.

I really like what your mod does to the railroad tracks and that uglly whitish ground texture. Unf., it also removes the snow mountains of my alps. Is there a way to keep both your texture for rocky terrain and the snow caps?

ymmv, ... results may vary a little depending on your graphics card and game settings. Use the "Tracks" only mod if it becomes too much of a problem.

Apart from the mountains and tracks looking pretty good, why does the grass texture look like its got zebra patterns with different shades.

As stated in the description, both High Speed and Standard Rail have been modified. Check the screen shots to get an idea of what it looks like.

Speedtracks or Normal 120 Tracks?

@BuffHamster: Awesome, I'll give it a go, it looks much better than the vanilla version. thanks for your reply!

Please use the Discussion Topic if you have any problems and make sure to post a screenshot of the issue you are having. The pack was designed for the Euro maps, but since the track is standard to both, it was tagged as such. This has been updated.

I use a high-end graphics card and monitor so results may vary a little depending on your graphics card and game settings.

@Thomas of the North: There is NO Impact on PC Performance what-so-ever. The textures (both TGA and DDS) are exactly the same sizes as the originals, ... think of the mod as a "texture swap" or replacement.

What sort of impact would this have on FPS? Are the textures any larger than the vanilla ones or are they similar/recoloured?

Looks great either way!
