Frankly it's a really shitty thing to do. Introduce a mod that fulfills a legitiimate need for the community, then stop maintaining it and breaking ppl's saves/ability to play with others/losing all the hours of progress they put into taming the beefalo they needed the mod for.

I did edit the files as directed but that did not fix every aspect of the mod. Why can't someone else pick up the mod, fix it, and republish it/their own version? If it's such an easy fix for a modder to do, I wish someone would for the sake of the DST community. I would if I could.

Would love to see a Domestication Plus (Fixed) version up there someday. Like others have fixed other broken mods I love. Thank-you ever so much to those who have. <3

@freyamaluk just because people do this out of the kindness of their heart doesnt mean some expectations arent given. people that make a mod that becomes broken, and then never do anything to fix it even after acknowledging that its broken, are kind of stupid people. stop giving people shields just because they chose to do something.

Why isn't this mod being fixed? The fact that it hasn't been maintained has had a major impact on my world & playtime. Not only is it barely cobbled together, the fact that I had to edit a couple lines myself now means NO ONE can join and play my world with me anymore (it no longer crashes but the UI is still BROKEN).

Please, someone pick this mod up and <3 it again. It's worthy. *sobz*

Good it worked :) I don't know much about the other features of this mod, so no clue why they are not working anymore.

My beefalo bell mod only does what is mentioned in description.

@Serp: Ty so much for the info you provided. I fixed the lines u described & am finally able to play in my solo world for the first time in over a month b/c of u; ty very very muchly. Your help was invaluable!

Unfortunately, the UI of the mod is still broken. It's missing info it displayed before, such as the domestication % & obedience (maybe more, going by memory), and it doesn't show the beefalo health/hunger anymore, just shows the max when u mouse over them.

@Serp: Maybe I should just use ur beefalo bell mod? If I have 4 beefalo, will they spawn & stay in their pen everytime I launch the world, or will they respawn on me & I'll have to move them everytime? I'm assuming I'd have to commandline cheat new beefs in somehow, or completely re-domesticate them (I have 1 beefalo of every available type)? Also, does ur mod halt their domestication loss or will I have to maintain them with salt licks? I'm trying to avoid the upkeep (cost in salt licks, and time) for 4 beefs.

the red marked code is the code it was before the fix. The green line is the code it should be.
So you replace the red code with the green code.

@Katarian: U have time to play games but STILL haven't fixed ur mod even though from what others are reporting it's a minor fix. U've seriously cost me hundreds of spools (and dozens of extra hours required playing The Forge) during this event. Now I can't even launch my world without it crashing. Thanks A LOT.

@Serp: Yarg. This has prevented me from getting my drops last week. Haven't yet this week but I really should. Problem is, I don't want to play any other world atm... just feels like a waste of time. I don't like to purely idle for skins either; never have and don't plan to start now.

I really appreciate the heads up though. If the beefalo leave the world with me, I'm unaware of it b/c it's a localhost. I guess I'll make a back-up & find out if they will be deleted. Living dangerously!

Hope they can fix their mod soon. It's been weeks now, has it not? Not looking good. Wish ShowMe added domestication loss prevention to the list of toggleable features in the config! Thank-you so much for taking the time to leave such helpful advice. +1 Rep. :D

@ LiketheShore&theSea: see the discussion above. It is because of recent game update.
I'm sure author will fix it soon, since recezib already fixed it, so it is only copy/paste now.

But I suggest to NOT remove the mod. Just stop playing this world, until it is fixed, just to make sure there will be no conflicts. I'm not sure here, but at least my version of the beefalo mod has this problem (because your beefalo leaves server with you. And if you deactivate mod, it will be deleted instead of spawned again)

Uhh... tried to ride my beefalo and game crashed, referencing your mod.

Gonna have to disable it... I'm gonna be really upset if my beef undomesticate now. I have one of each 4 tamed. Took a lot of time, effort, and aggravation to tame them. Would hate to lose them @ this point. Up 'til now, ur mod has been a Godsend, ty muchly for it. Hope you fix it soon.

P.S. I'm using the Show Me mod (the modified by a 2nd author version). Hopefully that's not interfering in any way.

I'm going to back snail up. I tried to mount my precious beefalo and my game crashes. I know nothing of mods other than how to install them. So if this could be looked into; that'd be really great! This is one of the best mods I've seen around.

Bucketsmith taking a quick look at its code and the setting actually makes it so whatever multiplier you have for gain is divded from all of the losses. So if you have 200% domesitication gain, it'll have 50% domestication loss

Could you perhaps split up the config option of domestication speed? I'm not sure how it works, but I'd like to have an easier time domesticating and taming a beefalo and less trouble with it losing that progress. Right now the config option says it will make it faster to domesticate and tame, but also faster for the mto loose that progress.
Does the collar mean you can instantly domesticate and tame a beefalo, or is it only usable on domesticated & tamed beefalo?

The permission item does not work and also the toothtrap protection seems not to work.
(looking at the code of permission, it seems I have to pickup the item once to make it work?! maybe you should add a onbuilt function too?)

And the player the beefalo follows does always change (I guess this is default behaviour), but when having the collar, the beefalo should only follow the owner.

And a feature request:
- Call your beefalo (which will teleport your beefalo to you)
- (or wormhole travel with beefalo)

Hi there...this looks very interesting. May I ask if a domesticated beefalo will exit the server when the owner of said beefalo exits the server? IF so...what is the limit of how many beefalo will do this? I ask because I'm thinking about running a server cleaner that removes beefalo intermittently if they're overpopulated, and I'm not sure how that mod would interract with this one (I don't want someone's pet to be poofed away by a cleaner, that would be a shame, lol). Thanks.

Really a good idea! But for me it works partially : the "prevent obedience loss" doesn't works (there is no difference between enable or not this option in the game).
If i put the collar to the beefalo it doesn't trigger the traps until i disconnect, when i connect again for continue the match, the beefalo activates tooth traps unless i craft another collar to put to the beefalo (the evidence of this fact is that i left the beffalo at the core of my bunch of traps, and it was alive because it didn't activate the traps, then i disconnect and when i start the game again that poor beast start to activate all the traps until it dies).

@Valak, Demon Nun - That's based on their obedience. Currently there's no way to keep obedeicne from decaying because of how it's coded. Take a look at the obedience in the wiki and you'll see why. Basically you have to have obedience and domestication high to ride it for awhile

@Kalarian, thank you. but i have a favor? possibly, I've dug into the coding for the Your rules! and removed some parts and scripts I thought could help make them work together, i've come upp with nothing s ofar, do you think you could take a look?
