Actually it'd be the opposite. One too many zeroes. x3
Xero  [author] 18 May, 2024 @ 1:45am
I'll check it out later, just missing a 0 most likely
Vas 21 Apr, 2024 @ 1:12pm
As per the oxygen tank, I suspect you had a typo or forgot a tank in rebalancing and stuff.
Vas 21 Apr, 2024 @ 1:12pm
Whoa, no wonder the numbers are WAY off in my grid.

The 1x3 Oxygen tank no side ports holds 10 times more than it should. It holds 1.5Ml where the one with ports holds 150kL. I can't exactly go switch them with the right tanks either due to how I built this all up.

As for the large hydro tank, it makes sense that the 3³ tank holds 10 times more than the 1x3 tank. It takes the space of 9 of those tanks, allowing for extra storage due to the saved space.

Sorry for late reply; I am about to work on the capacity and fix some issues, The idea was to use them as tanks that are easy to build, so the design of them resulted in slightly less capacity than the 3x3x3.
On our server we have 3x3x3 'square' tanks, with more capacity as well, but they're not balanced like these. I'll give it a once over anyway.

the numbers on this one are off and actually result in worse. The regular hydrogen tank which is 3x3x3 holds 15 million units of hydrogen. Your 1x1x3 only holds 1.5 million meaning you need 10 of them to match which results in taking up more space. Great mod but feel like it needs work still.

You're welcome! I'm good at what I do IRL but modding games, isn't something I know how to do. I love the design engineering aspect of this game but with no mod expertise, I'm limited by what others who know modding create!

I hope KSW keeps adding more small-grid capability as I like building in that more than large grid and your tank sizes are so much more workable than the vanilla ones!

Keep up the great work!

We need to do a once over on this mod, thanks for the comment! I haven't modded in a while so I need to do a once over on a lot of older mods to at least make sure they're still working.
Wolfhound75 19 Oct, 2023 @ 10:48am
Howdy guys! LOVE this mod! Vanilla tanks are too bulky and unwieldy for most ship/rover builds.

Might want to check the SG 1x1 O2 tank capacity. I was playing around with a vanilla drop pod refit today and noticed it might be pulling the 1x1 H2 capacity of 7,500L.

I checked the rest of the SG capacities for O2 and H2 and they appear accurate to your design specs above. I did _not_ check the LG tank capacities.

Z-Texture Fighting on 6-way Conveyor Tanks, specifically when looking down, I had a Menu open when spotting this issue, looks like Welding, but it's Z-Texture Fighting, specifically on Conveyor Port. Possibly other models too.

That is understandable and thank you, will put you as well as Nukguard as original owners/creators will set mod to unlisted for private server use only. If I or one of the other admin/players on private server figure out how to fix the bugs. We will send you the information on what had to be fixed to help out.
Xero  [author] 14 Nov, 2021 @ 4:38pm
@rusmig29 I added a use disclaimer section at the bottom of the description. I've been a little busy so I am unable to work out the bugs in this mod at the moment.
rusmig29 14 Nov, 2021 @ 2:55pm
Would like to ask permission to modify this mod for an unlisted private server. Mod will be set to unlisted and give all credit back to you as original creator. A link will show where the original mod came from. Wish to create a mod pack that the players will enjoy on the server with all contributors give full credit.

The 1x1 generators are not provided in the balanced version. they convert 1 unit of ice into 2 units of oxygen/hydrogen. This was seen as a break in the balance of the generators vs vanilla values used so they were removed from this version.
The 'unbalanced' version isn't too terribly different if you still want to use the 2x generators.
Meiestrix 10 Feb, 2020 @ 4:43am
Are the generators missing in the V2 balanced version, or is this a bug?
Oberfail 14 Oct, 2019 @ 10:25am
Can we edit that mod and use it for our own server? We wont claim anything as our own mods.
Xero  [author] 15 Aug, 2019 @ 1:47am
The unbalanced version should be identical except for tank storage sizes.
Sabrewulf 15 Aug, 2019 @ 12:49am
@Xero
Thx, i was worried about break my ships if i do not remove each tank from each ship to switch mods
Xero  [author] 15 Aug, 2019 @ 12:09am
it will overwrite it, depends on which one you put on top.
You only need one :)
Sabrewulf 13 Aug, 2019 @ 4:25pm
Do it overwrite the unbalanced version or can work together?
Xero  [author] 14 Jul, 2019 @ 5:05pm
Hmm. I would say this is a vanilla bug? I've not had that issue but... i've never actually encountered this scenario.
I think it's because generators need ice to even run, so if you throw it just in a tank, with no generator or ice, the game thinks the bottle will just get filled perhaps.

no idea honestly, this is one you should report on the keenswh support site.
Blind_Rifleman 14 Jul, 2019 @ 3:05pm
Found a small bug the other day. In multiplayer if you place a bottle into one of these tanks to refill it with auto-refill on, but the tank doesn't have enough gas to refill it completely, it will crash your client. If the server host does it, it will crash all other connected clients instead.

I play a locally hosted game (by me) with a few friends. Every time I would use it, they would both crash, when they used it they would be the only ones affected. The hydrogen was coming from a slow trickle source so would almost never be able to fully refill the bottles.

No idea if this could be another mod conflict or a bug in SE itself, but we can all fill bottles using the generators without issue.

Not added them yet
Thats the current version new one with your tanks will be ready hoping in about 3 weeks or less.
Xero  [author] 21 Jun, 2019 @ 2:45am
Didn't see links to here, or have you not added them yet?
Viper 20 Jun, 2019 @ 11:28am
@Xero Here is the current version of the mod. hoping to have the updated one out in about 3 weeks. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1414106750
Viper 17 Jun, 2019 @ 6:24pm
@Xero thank you so much. I will once i get the update pushed.
Xero  [author] 17 Jun, 2019 @ 1:04pm
@Viper That's fine with me, feel free to link the mod on the comments here too.
Viper 17 Jun, 2019 @ 12:53pm
@Xero I would like to ask your permission to use one of your tank models in my cylon combatant mod for a more compact hydro tank to be exact the 1x2 large block hydro? I will also provide a link to the entire mod in case any one wants to use these wonderful tanks.
Bobisback 1 Jun, 2019 @ 7:59pm
I agree with frequency, the weights seem really heavy. Even tho I use this mod, I tend to opt for the bigger vanilla tank just because the other ones weigh so much, esp the 3x3 small grid tank.
Xero  [author] 1 Jun, 2019 @ 1:01pm
I will look at them later, I used the 1x2 oxygen tank as reference... and for small grid I cut the tanks up quite a lot from vanilla.
So the weight difference is strange in comparison to the 3x3x3
Frequency 1 Jun, 2019 @ 4:23am
That mod is great, the tanks are working fine for me (single player). The only thing that bugs me is their weight, which appears to be calculated upon total mass of components used in construction. Steel Plate is really the heavy part of anything.
I.e. the 1x3 tank (large grid) weighs over 5 tons compared to the vanilla 3x3's 8 tons, which holds 9x as much hydrogen.
For the sake of balance, small tanks should be expensive to build, but maybe the components required should be relatively lightweight (interior plate, girders and construction cmpts are light, could probably even go for superconductors).
Bobisback 31 May, 2019 @ 8:49am
I guess I will just have to rebuild the ship without the 1X3 tanks, I cannot get them to build no matter what I do :(
Xero  [author] 30 May, 2019 @ 6:51pm
That... is really strange. I honestly have no idea, unless there's a duplicate on the server maybe?
Bobisback 30 May, 2019 @ 4:09pm
Ok, this is really weird. I am trying to build a hydrogen tank 1X3 with ports on a dedicated server. This happens with hand welder or ship welder. Single player seemed to work fine. When I start building the tank it puts all resources into the thing, once it gets to like 40% done it starts remove components from the thing until only plates are left. If I grind it down I get back 100% of the components I put into it. Any ideas what is going on?
Xero  [author] 28 May, 2019 @ 8:20pm
I'll take a look, it should be slightly less than the 5x5x5 tank on small ships. the rest were balanced based on the oxygen tank that is vanilla.
and ofc added glass since it has glass.

I can easily do the update to the 3x3x3 though. Thanks for letting me know :)
Bobisback 28 May, 2019 @ 6:38pm
I assume the mass of a block in the game is calculated based on component cost? Looks like the component cost has not changed. I will try to force a re-download of the mod. I am guessing it updated correctly though since it overrode my cost changes to the tank.

its just annoying right now that my fighters with the 3x3x3 tanks weight like 4 times that with one large tank.
Bobisback 28 May, 2019 @ 6:32pm
It would seem that the mod updated, but the airtight 3x3x3 small grid tank is still many times more mass then the default one. Is my mod just not updating correctly?
Xero  [author] 27 May, 2019 @ 10:05pm
Huge update! fixed quite a lot of stuff, see the change logs for more :)
Xero  [author] 14 May, 2019 @ 8:35am
I'll tkae a look at that, I think the inventory just allows lots of bottles to be added.
I'm re-doing the components/build times etc so i'll fix it during that session.
Zinux 13 May, 2019 @ 2:26pm
I like this mod. Needs some updating with base game settings (see below).
Wondering why you boosted the InventoryMaxVolume setting from 0.75 to 4 ?

For 'SmallHydrogenTank' Differences vs Vanilla is as follows
<DisplayName>DisplayName_Block_HydrogenTankSmall</DisplayName>
<Description>Description_HydrogenTank</Description>
<Capacity>160000</Capacity><!-- should be 320000 in mod for 2x -->
<InventoryMaxVolume>4</InventoryMaxVolume>
<BuildTimeSeconds>45</BuildTimeSeconds>
<PCU>25</PCU>
For 'LargeHydrogenTank' Differencesvs Vanilla is as follows
<Description>Description_HydrogenTank</Description>
<InventoryMaxVolume>0.75</InventoryMaxVolume>
<BuildTimeSeconds>50</BuildTimeSeconds>
<PCU>25</PCU>
Xero  [author] 5 May, 2019 @ 8:31pm
Strange, i'm working on component costs, but it's second in line atm, working on shader. it takes a while to get right.
nukeguard  [author] 5 May, 2019 @ 7:58pm
you can edit the cubeblock.sbc of the mod and change component cost in local copy
Bobisback 5 May, 2019 @ 3:33pm
Is there any way to fix the mass of the 3x3x3 tank in my local copy?
Bobisback 5 May, 2019 @ 3:31pm
Is there any reason why the airtight 3x3x3 small grid tank is almost 3 times the mass as the vanilla 5x5x5 tank? it also seems to have like twice the resource requirements as well.
Bobisback 28 Apr, 2019 @ 5:01pm
Ya it is under airtight container, did not catch that until just now.
Xero  [author] 28 Apr, 2019 @ 3:50pm
It should be there, that was one of my last updates. I'm working on an update to fix component costs on some things, if anything isn't right i'll update it then.
Bobisback 28 Apr, 2019 @ 2:39am
I have this mod installed but I seem to be missing some tanks in the g menu. looking for the 3X3 tank, any idea why it is not in the g menu?
Vas 16 Apr, 2019 @ 11:40am
Looks like someone forgot their model! :O

I took that screenshot on the 11th, forgot to share.
Xero  [author] 8 Apr, 2019 @ 8:41pm
Seems to have surely broke something, it happens in both mods. I'll be an hour or so and i'll check into it.
Pravus 8 Apr, 2019 @ 7:59pm
Just giving a heads up but I think the 1.190 update broke something.

I was playing on a single player survival save and had this mod installed. I pressed "G" to open my menu and clicked on the "OCD" heading. The second I clicked "OCD" my game threw a fatal error and crashed.
