i can of wish there was one for the testudo mobile xD
It references its use in the battle of Strasbourg, in which the Romans achieved victory with very little casualties, and inflicted many amongst the Alamanni. The Testudo in this game was different than in Rome 2, it's justified to be able to handle cavalry and as well as infantry. They are also meant to be able to throw missiles in this formation.
@Fluffy Fishy: The Roman Testudo was not only a formation against missiles, it was of course a defensive combat formation which the roman legionaires used against barbarian hordes, especially against those without heavy armor or small/non-shielded troops.
They closed the formation against enemies (superior in numbers) so that their own formation can not be outflanked or attacked from the rear. They opened for a short time to stack their Gladius into their enemy then closing formation again.
You can watch such scene in the movie (in German: "Der Adler der Neunten Legion") "The Eagle" (of the 9th Legion).
Many historical detail and facts are not correctly transfered from the developers...
In my opinion this mod seems to be quite good, perhaps it can be enlarged so that the testudo-formation gets what it deserves: being a formidable fighting formation for diciplined infantry.
