UPDATED: Now has more engines for increased survivability!

Thanks to Director Juno for the info. As soon as you said speed mod I realized I had one on when I was playing with it. My bad!

Well, so far the only way ive managed to not crash was to full power forward, basically changing the falling velocity to forward velocity. It simply couldn't produce the thrust to stop a 'flat' fall. And I dont have any speed mods or whatnot that might much up the works.

It doesn't work as a 'drop' lander, I suppose it is plane shaped, fly it like one and it works fine. Either way I'm still using it.

I've been using it on my server for a little while now and not experienced this problem. It is only atmospheric.

So with inertial dampeners on, it couldn't stop itself after reentry and hit at nearly full speed. Is this not supposed to be a atmospheric respawn capable ship ?
