You place it in this folder C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Maps
This way, it will be your map and you can do whatever you like with it inside map editor ;) I suggest one of the Australia red rock themes, Sedona or other rkcmy desert map theme :) Happy building
If and when you get a chance, can you please do me a huge favour & check out my new map and let me know what you think (positives & all negatives), so I can improve my designs.
The map below is not based on any actual place. I designed it only with the game in mind.

Please note: I use your https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=688156204 in this map - I think it's this one. :) lol
@war4sure, unfortunately there's no way to fit the entire Aral Sea into one map, A Cities map is 18km by 18km.
qDutchJesse I doubt I'll able to add Amsterdam to the pile of maps already in line :/ but there are some great map makers out there these days. Maybe one of them would have the time? Sorry about that.
Re: the subscribe all, I do like that idea but wow, that would be a crazy amount of back and forth work, but most of all, I really would never recommend downloading all the mods and trees required of these maps in total. Also, there's the mod issue with NExt as you pointed out. Once the final verdict is in from Lazarusman, then I might have to take those NExt-dependent maps out of this collection and mark them as broken :(
