@FredyC There is a bar graph indicator on the solar panels that shows output. When your placing them, make sure you level them out then turn your body arround holding the panels watching the bars making sure the bars are balenced. Otherwise, you will get storm of power first thing that will charge your batteries then feed your equipment producing extra power you cannot store. What you want to do is to produce enough power so that your batteries are full at the end of the day cycle. Power output of the panels is maximized when you have the left side and right side output balenced. The bar graph is right above the plug and the battery indicators.

@FredyC

I will be updating the regular 'Vanilla Scenarios' and probably include the same supplies as this one has in the cargo truck plus some extra stuff. Just need the time to get around to it.

This version will stay 1:12 the other uses regular Dayscale though.

@Hessan: What do you mean aligning panels properly? Is there some hidden way how to actually position each panel separately? I haven't found about that one. Also true is that I haven't realized that there are batteries and I have deployed them later when I had other machines in place which was probably the biggest mistake.

I guess I have to either wait throught the night now or restart.

@Mr. Monochrome: Yea, I don't like 1:12 either. I suppose you are not planning on updating the addon with regular dayscale by adding same content as this one has?

@FredyC

The best course of action I couldn't really say... I just tend to make mods, addons and scenarios lately. Plus I don't play on 1:12 DAYSCALE all that much as it's slighty too fast for my taste. Sorry for the late reply.

Another thing is are you wireing everything up into a grid using the plug box or just direct to the panels? If you go through the plug box, you get to use everything as a single power source.

Solar Panels do include batteries built in. Are you aligning your pannels properly? you should orient the solar array so as to even out ther power production between the left and right panel using the display on the panel to maximize your power production durring the day.

No ideas then? I think these scenarios definitely need at least one of those batteries (MRTG?). I do realize there was no need for those in original vanilla scenarios, but since even a printer needs power it makes it kinda necessity.

I am wondering what's actually best course of action on a first day? I mean there are only those two solar panels and once night hits, I can just stare at the stars, right? I feel bit stuck since there is no night skip and no reason to roam around in a truck (unless there are other drops I am not aware of). I am still pretty much newbie to all this, finished only a story mode so far.

Ok thanks, I haven't actually realized this is different workshop item. I was subscribed to the other one. This one looks ok so far.

@FredyC

Just checked the scenario and the supplies are present in the truck. If you're running a save game before the update it won't contain the added supplies. This was also only added to the Vanilla Scenarios 1:12 version.
FredyC 17 Feb, 2017 @ 8:33am
Was that updated for all scenarios? I have just started Isidis Planitia a there is nothing at the back of the truck. With only two drops of basic machinery I don't see a quick way enough to get food.

@Ewell

Water stations don't work in low atmosphere. They have to be placed in a habitat. Also when exactly are you consuming water and food? Right away or are you conserving till the last minute?
Ewell 11 Feb, 2017 @ 4:40pm
Even with the added supplies I still keep running out before I can make my own. If I might make a suggestion, toss a water and hydroponics station into the back of the starting truck.

@Hessan

Try 'Lunar Proving Grounds'. I can however add a new scenario which uses the hab from the campaign if you prefer.
Ewell 10 Feb, 2017 @ 8:08pm
So in order to avoid dying of thirst and hunger you need a water dispenser and a farm, both of which need plastic which we start with none of, which needs a large refinery to make. So unless I’m missing something we have to make a very large 3d printer, a large refinery, make some plastic and build both before the meager two pack of both food and water we start with run out.
Seems like a problem to me.
Hessan 8 Feb, 2017 @ 5:06pm
Another suggestion here....what about a version of these which includes the large hab from the campain? Basically "You landed here" type of scenerio similiar to the last one in the campain where you have the resource machines and a small printer and some barrels and potato seeds with power generators for a slightly easier start off.
Hessan 20 Dec, 2016 @ 3:12pm
Actually I found I was still subscribed to the origial version of these but now the landing cans are empty with no contents in South Pole scenerio.
Hessan 20 Dec, 2016 @ 3:06pm
Has the update been posted? Tried the scenerios again and the drops still had solar pannels on south poll scenerio.
Mr. Monochrome [Hood Certified]  [author] 20 Dec, 2016 @ 9:58am
@Hessan

Rgr, Wilco.
Hessan 20 Dec, 2016 @ 9:53am
Also, the resources provided are insufficient to build a RTG and a 3d Printer big enough to built it.
Hessan 20 Dec, 2016 @ 9:53am
Mr. Monochrome...Just a suggestion.............for the polar scenerios...you may want to include in a thrid supply drop with a couple RTGs to make sure you can run the refinary. Right now, the seenerios are unplayable due to a hard stop when you run out of resources as there is not enough sunlight at the poles for they two solar panels to produce enough power to run the extraction equipment nor the refinary so when your out of resources your dead in the water.
