Does this mod still work? I remember it being a crucial mod for me.
Chamëleon TBN 15 Mar, 2023 @ 6:38am
Game Anarchy have also a Lot of such settings included
Evil.Iguana 10 Dec, 2022 @ 10:26am
Would love to see this get picked up and updated by someone at some point. I plant trees a lot more densely than the base game would allow and this results in forest fires that are beyond the capacity of the game's fire services to handle. Would rather be able to adjust the spread rate again rather than have to disable fire spreading entirely.
itsimon 19 Nov, 2022 @ 12:01pm
Mod is working for me without issues - prevents tree-fire-spreading but don*t disables tree fires completely or effects distaster-fires... other mods just don't do this correctly -> yes, it may be abandonned, but still works despite the compatibility reports...
Enma 13 Nov, 2022 @ 8:53am
I hope this gets picked up.
I want fires to spread, just not so quickly.
StayHungryStayFoolish 17 Sep, 2022 @ 3:38am
Sorry, I would not recommend this mod. I place it on the list of "Avoid these mods".
codewitch 16 Sep, 2022 @ 4:22pm
@StayHungryStayFoolish , @"Compat Report Team"{group} - Compatibility update? Seems to be broken in P&P
Tales of Lilly 7 Aug, 2022 @ 2:47am
This has stopped working for me over night...
sundiyagt09 28 Feb, 2022 @ 10:36pm
is this compatible with the new DLC
Muur 21 Dec, 2021 @ 5:54pm
how do ou go to like the tree fir e spawn thing
StayHungryStayFoolish 12 Dec, 2021 @ 4:48pm
I just hate to see, those trees start to fire, without reason, on a daily basis in the vanilla games. I love to plant trees and in reality, they do not catch fire, just because they are too close to each other. Ehh.
Chamëleon TBN 12 Dec, 2021 @ 2:19pm
@StayHungryStayFoolish better use the Base Game 'No fire Spread Function' that is build in since a while
StayHungryStayFoolish 11 Oct, 2021 @ 12:42pm
[ID: 814903880] "Tree Fire Control":
- Probably compatible with Cities: Skylines 1.13.0-f8 ?
- Mod seems (or is) abandonned; future updates are unlikely.
- Can cause performance issues (lag or framerate drop in-game).
- Some users experienced problems; check workshop page/comments for details.
- May cause in-game lag if there are huge numbers of trees in your city.
- The game now has a built-in option to control fire spreading that might be better alternative to this mod.
- If you want to turn building fires off, try 'No Fires' mod or 'No Park Building Fires' mod.

What a "nice" list, isn't it? You can read here: c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data\AutoRepair.log (LemonsterOG told to check, I am just going through it). The last one is pretty bad advice, since "No Fires" does not work at all, it is a 2015 mod.
heymegalodon 10 Oct, 2021 @ 5:35am
@LemonsterOG I use this mod together with mods for visualizing the needs of buildings. Buildings are very afraid of trees because of "fire hazard" therefore (I think) there are often 30% of unoccupied apartments and they are less happy. I tried to configure the mod for a long time, but it does not reduce the "fire hazard", maybe you know the correct settings?
LemonsterOG 8 Oct, 2021 @ 6:50am
@heymegalodon -- I haven't had any issues with this mod.

What's not working for you? What steps have you taken to resolve your issue(s)?
heymegalodon 8 Oct, 2021 @ 1:43am
Does this mod do nothing just for me?
Mactaverum 21 Sep, 2021 @ 7:43pm
Well the mod hasn't been updated in 4 years so.... probably at least partly broken by updates since then.
Sint Holo 21 Sep, 2021 @ 4:06am
I have my settings identical to those in the screenshot here, but I'm still getting tree fires fairly frequently. I don't think they're disaster related as no notifications etc. Just finding random tree fires still, is this mod not working? Am I doing something wrong?
Ragefighter 17 Sep, 2021 @ 1:36pm
I always thought it was funny when CPP was plopping all sorts of trees/landscaping then turns the camera around to see the other half of the town on fire.

Trees in CS are like leaky barrels of gasoline for some reason. One thunderstorm burned down at least half the trees on one of my maps recently!

I like the threat for fires but it is insane how flammable this world is

Subscribing to this one now, before I start up my newest map; because I want a nice fertile river valley not a barren scorched desert lol
MrMontana1889 17 Sep, 2021 @ 8:45am
I saw that City Planner Plays subscribed which is the reason I subscribed. This should be a very useful mod.
rainbowsandvich 18 Mar, 2021 @ 3:02am
Forest fire disaster is fine, but omg please no more park infernos every in-game week
LordBelakor 3 May, 2019 @ 4:12am
Thanks for this, the random treefires are a pest, even with disasters turned off, I have half of my city looking like a gateway to hell once or twice in half an hour, due to the high number of trees.
luisviudez 17 Feb, 2019 @ 3:47am
thank you so much!!! I hate those fires! I place trees everywhere in my cities and they just keep catching fire!!!
Overlord 6 Jan, 2019 @ 3:55am
Yes flawlessly - since day I started using this mod I've never had any tree on fire.
Zoey 5 Jan, 2019 @ 8:37pm
Is this still work?
alf810 5 Dec, 2018 @ 12:46pm
I hope this mod works with the latest version, the tree burning rate has ruined playing on forestry maps for me.
ksgustavo 3 Nov, 2018 @ 8:49am
Is it possible to make helicopters extinguish trees fires first, and let trucks go for buildings?
Mustafina 24 Oct, 2018 @ 2:27am
works with industries DLC patch??
Overlord 8 Aug, 2018 @ 4:12am
This mod already have slider for tree fire spread. If it is not enough for you than build less watchtowers.
Snowy 8 Aug, 2018 @ 1:34am
Will you add an option to make forest fires to spread quicker/more severely, or more reaslistic
Vimes 7 Jul, 2018 @ 6:58am
All I did is turn off the ND DLC, result no silly tree fires :)

Not the right thing to do for some but I'm ok with it, until (if they do) CO addresses the issue.
Phoenix C64 7 Jul, 2018 @ 6:54am
Heya @ OP (dunno if you're active anymore) but last wednesday patch broke this mod. forest fires happen again at an alarming rate after milestone 5
Overlord 22 Jun, 2018 @ 11:04am
I would like to buy ND disaters DLC (only because of helicopters) and I dont want to use any of the disasters neither fire. And I dont want to tree fires so can anybody confirm that this mod is 100% working to disable trees catching fire? Thank you. I dont have problems with fire in general (buildings) but I dont want any tree fire neither disasters in my sandbox city :)
Avanya 17 Jun, 2018 @ 2:45am
This mod still works to disable tree fire spread. Not sure if the sliders still work to lower the speed of the spread, but at least disabling works. If it doesn't work for you guys, then there's likely another mod interfering, which needs to be tracked down.
cpt_gary 16 Jun, 2018 @ 6:27am
Want to check does this mod still working with the new park life update?
Vimes 1 Apr, 2018 @ 6:55am
That hasn't helped me. Still get spontaneous tree fires, worse if I have beautified an urban area as it spreads to buildings.

Removing this mod and nothing changes
Royal Raven 25 Mar, 2018 @ 11:52am
I found if I turn the Diasters Slider down to off, there won't be normal forest fires. The only easy fix I found until this mod gets updated.
Vimes 21 Mar, 2018 @ 3:00pm
I have my doubts to. Forest fires as well are burning just as frequently as they were prior to using this.
Royal Raven 21 Mar, 2018 @ 2:56pm
I don't know if this is working with the latest update that this message is posted. I still get fire even if I turn them off with this mod. Even if I set them very low to 5, they still happen frequently. But like I said if I turn the fires off, they still happen.
surf2explore 9 Feb, 2018 @ 2:21am
And what were the settings you used ?
Jesse 8 Feb, 2018 @ 9:37am
Every 10 minutes half my city went up in flames, thank you for this mod!
surf2explore 30 Dec, 2017 @ 3:28am
You know what would be golden ? If you (or someone else) could add this to a district. Like the forrest industry you can turn the % lower and in other parts of the city you can leave it unchanged.
lys_knight 5 Nov, 2017 @ 4:05am
I wasn't buying the DLC in question because of so many people complaining about the forest fires but I've just discoverted your mod and therefore I would have one question before purchasing the DLC. Can you tell me if your mod is compatible all the way to the Green City DLC ? Thank you so much for your time.
girlfromverona 7 Oct, 2017 @ 8:44pm
Thank you so much for this! I've been getting so many fires lately. So annoying. Can't wait to try this out. Thanks again!
C. Justice 20 Aug, 2017 @ 10:13am
Wow really? That sounds great :p

Yeah looking for a realistic feel to be honest. I have my simulation using the "slow" mod that slows down the simulation to a realistic speed, along with Rush hour etc so everything is running pretty accurate. So firefighting etc if the A.I could be set to not immediately extinguish the fire when they arrive that'd be cool like.

Cheers m8 and i agree probably better as a separate one off :S
knighthawkGP  [author] 20 Aug, 2017 @ 4:40am
@Lieutenant A.Kouassi - feature request noted... :-) At some point in fall I should have some time again to invest into this game and maybe re-work some things. That said your request is not really tree-fire related so not sure it belongs in this mod, but maybe I'll sneek fire truck ai firefighting rate override in there; or do a seperate one-off mod. Would you want it to apply to helicopters as well? I kind of find the helos to be slow as hell already..ie fairly realisitic. (unless like I do you create your own assets with much bigger water tanks to make'em more effective once they actually get on-site )
C. Justice 19 Aug, 2017 @ 2:04pm
I suppose yes was thinking same but wondered if one was released already. Would be a nice additional thing to tweak :)

Cheeaz :)
knighthawkGP  [author] 19 Aug, 2017 @ 12:33pm
@Lieutenant A. Kouassi - I don't know of one that does that, in theory it could probably be done, maybe by overidding fireTruckAI extinguishfire function and instead of using the specific m_fireFightingRates ..just insert your own to use globally. But without coding you could have custom assets that have a lower "FireFighting rate" and then only use custom fireengines, I think the default rate is 30.
C. Justice 18 Aug, 2017 @ 2:57pm
Is there any mod which slows the rate fires are extinguished by fire vehicles? Pretty much have a "believable" simulation speed going with other mods and goods etc all toned down.

An element I have not yet seen is how fast fires are put out. Would like to see crews tackling them actually being able to deploy there hoses before it goes out lol. - That is probably tied to slow simulation but fires are not affected yet.

Love this mod btw as it does give more flexibility over base game :)
VaunLive 18 Aug, 2017 @ 11:25am
Unlimited Trees Mod is the issue causing helicopters and other services vehicles to not spawn.
