I really like youe version as well :) Thanks for checking mine out.
86™  [author] 9 Mar, 2017 @ 8:09am
Thanks Tomash :)

Sorry to hear you didn't like the redesign! I thought the Space Moles guys did an excellent job, but I can see where some might find it a bit impractical.
Tomash 9 Mar, 2017 @ 7:12am
It. Is. Beautiful.
An I didn't like this redesigned version at all :D
86™  [author] 21 Dec, 2016 @ 7:44am
I've had that happen before as well, but I also had around 25-30 large CVs spawned in and docked around 3 space stations, all within a couple kilometers of each other. Looks like you've got something to add to your wishlist! :)
Popo Bigles 21 Dec, 2016 @ 7:27am
nvm, i just looked at last screenshot...i think it's just that my Robotic Potato hates this game...
Popo Bigles 21 Dec, 2016 @ 7:26am
Sometimes when they're to many Blocks on my computer, it lags, and i guess this has more than 100,000. My breaking point on my PC is 50,000, after 50,000 i crash...
86™  [author] 20 Dec, 2016 @ 7:35pm
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. I wonder why this ship would've caused it, though? It's only a class 4 ship, not that much in terms of devices or anything crazy.
Popo Bigles 20 Dec, 2016 @ 6:03pm
When i actully tried to spawn it in for the first time...i crashed ;-;

Can someone send me a excellent GPU Card because im running on Top-Of-The-Line Robotic Potato Cards...
86™  [author] 20 Dec, 2016 @ 3:19pm
Thanks :)

I bet it does! So much eye candy in one spot, I bet that was quite a site!

GETTING LARGE AMMOUNTS OF SPACE ENGINEER VIBES

Was this based off of the Big Red Boomer from Space engineers or does it weirdly look like it?

@The_Mess: Would you please kindly move your last couple comments from here into your own discussion thread, or message Revan1977 about your ideas? As cool as it is for you to offer to build some other ships and have all these ideas, I don't feel this is the proper place for that discussion. For one, this is a thread about my ship, not your unrelated ideas. More importantly, it makes no sense whatsoever to discuss that here, as it's silly to expect people to revisit a Workshop item's comment section to continue a discussion such as this.

That being said, you're more than welcome to join my project and help keep these ships in one combined collection, and I'd be happy to edit the title/description to reflect that. If you'd like, you can also take your discussion over there, too!

Or I could build this: https://www.flickr.com/photos/112058573@N02/19278041928/
But base armour would only be 2 layers, probably use harden steel for internals unless asked otherwise.
The_Mess 15 Dec, 2016 @ 3:06am
And an idea's just hatched for a heavy carrier. It wont be cheap, due to 3 layers of exterior armour, but it should be pretty easy to knock up. All combat armour of course, with internal 2 layer thick bulkheads, with fuel tanks arranged in groups of 2 and surrounded by armour.

It'll follow similar lines to this: https://www.flickr.com/photos/steebles1908/21229592014/

I'll use a system of bulkheads to section it up, with a good deal of internal space for the hanger. Top mounted double hanger door entrance, with 2 exits either side located in the belt armour, Probably chuck the core in the centre of the build, and it'll have a heavily reinforced top bridge with an internal and heavily armoured CIC with pilot's seats.

Could also whip up something smaller since that's just as possible, but you'll need to layout some specifications for me to adhere to since I can go a bit nuts...
The_Mess 15 Dec, 2016 @ 1:20am
Hi Revan - I might wind up making something that fits those guidelines at some point, since that's one of the CV's I have planned. But if you want to do it yourself, the easiest way is to plan out the internal rooms and systems first, then shape the hull to cover them. Although for a large-ish carrier the turret limits become an issue in terms of getting sufficient coverage.

Otherwise it's all practice, checking out stuff on other builds and from other games/media to get ideas and iteration, iteration and iteration :P

Revan1977 14 Dec, 2016 @ 4:09pm
Well, I am looking for a carrier that not only can carry 4-6 sv's quite well, but can handle a fight itself. I suck so bad at building on here LOL. If it is not using the whole blocks I am useless. But most of the ships on the workshop are not useful in combat. They are either paper thin, or the inside componets are placed where they are vulnerable. Thanks for considering the build.
86™  [author] 14 Dec, 2016 @ 3:37pm
Thanks, and absolutely! Battlestar has some great designs as well. I would say no to the Columbia, even though it is a decent looking ship! It doesn't necessarily look difficult, it's just really big, but just not interesting enough to really sell me on doing that big of a ship. If you're looking for a warship that can fit larger SVs, might I recommend the PIF-813 Deimos ? It can fit the absolutely gorgeous Millenium Falcon SV in her midship hangar, plenty of space for an entire fleet!

The Mercury-class ship, however, I would definitely consider! I have a pretty full plate right now, so it's gonna be at least a couple/few weeks before I would even look into it. I guess that kinda works though, because apparently there are some more new blocks on the way??? :D

Anyway, I'll add it to the list for now.
Revan1977 14 Dec, 2016 @ 2:53pm
Good Looking ship man. Do you think a Battlestar would interest you? There is a blueprint in the workshop already that looks good, but the landing bays are too narrow for most Sv's, and it would get shredded in any kind of a fight. I love the look of the Mercury Class, and of course the Columbia class Galactica.
86™  [author] 14 Dec, 2016 @ 5:41am
@michaelhartman89: I wasn't aware of that thread, but I am now! I haven't really built any stationary structures yet, but I'll put some thought into it when I've cleared up a couple other projects first :)
Mr_Harw 14 Dec, 2016 @ 4:06am
wow very impressiv design
The-Maple-Syrup-King 14 Dec, 2016 @ 12:07am
I don't know if you are aware of the civilian structure thread Hummel posted on Emperion website. I just wanted to see if you wanted to share your creations with the dev team to add to the game. They would look really cool in modular cities. Anyways here is the link:

@Draconator: Read 2 comments down, my response to ZipSnipe about the landing gear and upwards thrusters. That's right below the comment box you were just typing in. Though I guess to be fair, I wouldn't expect anyone to read through the comments, so I will add it to the description above.

As for the hangar, there IS one, and it is in fact clearly visible from outside of the ship; nothing is even hiding it. It is actually depicted twice in the screenshots above, so be sure to look on the underside of the ship, near the front. The hangar isn't very large, but it can still hold a couple small SVs.

I do agree 100% that this ship needs better signage throughout to help indicate where everything is located, and for that I sincerely apologize. An update is already in the works, and while that doesn't help you any if you've already subbed to and spawned the ship, it'll be here if you decide to revisit this in the future.
Seitaad 13 Dec, 2016 @ 7:54am
This ship doesn't have bottom upward thrusters. As soon as you spawn in the planet it sinks down quickly, and when you want to take off, you have to scratch the bottom of your ship and face the sky in a way that your ship is perpendicular to the surface. That's fucking awkward and not user friendly.

Also, in the reactor room elevator, it is written that a hangar does exist and I went through the whole ship - there is no hangar, except for an empty corridor at the top of the ship that has no doors for ships to come in and out.

Please, put proper guide signs in each corridor, mount upward thruster and put a hangar(or take care of that empty corridor)
Haro 13 Dec, 2016 @ 6:47am
very nice look!
86™  [author] 13 Dec, 2016 @ 5:56am
@Cereal Killer: That's some goofy shit! I'll have to check it out for sure, you've got me interested now.

@Tigercat: Yes, you are correct. This ship isn't actually from the Homeworld series, the original artist (info in ship description above) mentioned that it was just inspired by the game. If I had to guess though, I'd say that the Vaygr ships were probably the biggest source of inspiration.

@ZipSnipe: Glad you like it so much! I did have landing gear on it at one point, but it looked a bit 'off', and didn't fall in line with the original design I was recreating; they can be re-added easily, but you'll also need roughly 10 downward-firing medium thrusters as well, to help lift it off the planet. As for the extra thrusters/generators, I recommend having a look in the empty cargo room in the top/front of the ship, and directly under it, there's a room that has some extra RCS modules. Might take some rearranging, but there should be lots of room to add in some backups here :)
ZipSnipe 12 Dec, 2016 @ 8:18pm
Love it beautiful interior. However this is strickly a space ship and not a planetary lander. Almost usuable for PVP but engines and generators need to be added. Other than that it is one of the nicest ships I have viewed, exceelent work !!!!!!!
Tigercat 12 Dec, 2016 @ 7:09pm
@darkangel the vaygr battlecruiser is definitely a capital ship, and it has a vastly different engine setup than this CV does. There are similarities as far as the overall silhouette, sorta, but that's about it
Cereal 12 Dec, 2016 @ 6:50pm
@JRS , the H is to show hes a hologram. :) The whole TV show is a UK comedy from the 80's and 90's . they just made a new season this year and are doing another next year. Has a huge cult following in the UK
Dark Angel 12 Dec, 2016 @ 4:51pm
its from home world and its not a capital ship its a vaygr battlecruiser
Tigercat 12 Dec, 2016 @ 4:44pm
The side grooves and engine design stand out the most as far as being similar to something out of Homeworld
86™  [author] 12 Dec, 2016 @ 2:12pm
Thank you! I can't take credit for the design (see the top of the description above), but its design is most certainly based on Homeworld. Good eye!
Track Driver 12 Dec, 2016 @ 1:41pm
Beautiful! Reminds me of the capital ships from HOMEWORLD. Very nice indeed.
86™  [author] 12 Dec, 2016 @ 11:45am
It's constructed completely of Combat Steel, and most critical systems are covered by 2 or more layers of it.
Track64 12 Dec, 2016 @ 11:32am
what kind of armour does this ship come whit?
86™  [author] 12 Dec, 2016 @ 11:27am
That's an interesting take on how a ship's interior should look. I do agree that it does help make the ship feel much bigger! There is possibly space for a couple more SV, but this ship is also aimed at being used primarily by one person (and the fact that this ship is so narrow, most SVs won't fit anyway).

Thanks for the comments, and for an interesting point of view on design :)
