You have to set the terrain, trees, and environment to European.

Love this map. Mostly just passengers for me but started a tanker fleet up the Mississippi.

so there for i cant run ships up the river to Chicago.
FrenchFriedDakoter 6 Sep, 2017 @ 4:25pm
The River that Connects Peoria to the Mississippi has a texture glitch right at the meeting point just north east of St. Louis.

I can try to extend the map slightly, but this is already a 4k map. Some people have made larger, and so I will look into that. I can't promise anything.

Also, I have to actually make the already promised updates to the map that I owe my subscribers. I am hopeful that I will have time soon.
Sigert 7 Mar, 2017 @ 10:11am
can u make one with New York please? :)
March  [author] 25 Feb, 2017 @ 10:37pm
Heh, yeah. I'm using the more colloquial definition of "central US" which is the Mid-west. Which isn't central at all.
Oreo 25 Feb, 2017 @ 9:03pm
lol just curious considering it is one of the *central* most states
March  [author] 25 Feb, 2017 @ 7:44pm
The map doesn't reach that far west, sorry.
Oreo 25 Feb, 2017 @ 2:44pm
you dont happen to have any oklahoma cities anywhere on there do you?
just curious lol
March  [author] 16 Feb, 2017 @ 9:24pm
Okay. I'll do my best to try and put a food production plant there in the next release.
Madwolf 16 Feb, 2017 @ 9:23pm
Well Louisville is home to many of our Fast Food business in the US, so I would say a food production company.
March  [author] 16 Feb, 2017 @ 8:38pm
The problem with adding other cities is that they merge into the existing ones (in this case, very close proximity to Cleveland). If you will tell me what the primary industry of the city is, I will add that industry in its approximate location.

It's basically what has happened to my hometown of Columbus OH. ;)
Madwolf 16 Feb, 2017 @ 8:35pm
Is there a way to add Louisville to the map? That's really my only disappointment.
Tonzan 16 Feb, 2017 @ 1:27pm
Thanks for the help, I will try :)
March  [author] 16 Feb, 2017 @ 8:50am
It is possible that one of your mods is slowing down population growth. Check the descriptors on those mods to make sure. Also, make sure you didn't accidentally subscribe to one you didn't want by checking your subscribed mods.
Tonzan 16 Feb, 2017 @ 12:34am
Yes i have other mods, maybe it's a conflict between some, it's hard to know :(
March  [author] 15 Feb, 2017 @ 9:43pm
Hmm.. Very strange. I haven't had that issue, but I also haven't had time to play in over a month. Has there been an update? Do you have any other mods?
Tonzan 15 Feb, 2017 @ 3:43pm
Hi! I do love this map, it's really great. But I have a problem, the towns isn't growing as it should do. I played for about 60 years and having a lot of connections of both passengers and cargo, but I only have about 400 people living in the biggest of towns. Any idea why this is happening? Tips for fixing this is appreciated:).
Monte Plays Games 9 Feb, 2017 @ 7:39pm
Nice work. Thank you for your time and effort.
March  [author] 2 Jan, 2017 @ 9:15am
Yeah, my next update (probably some time after January) will include adjustments such as those. I've just been slammed with work and holiday stuff lately.

Look for an update in February.

Meanwhile, thanks for the compliments, and enjoy the map! :)
slwsnowman40 2 Jan, 2017 @ 9:01am
They should use this for the campaign map! This is so much better. There are some things off, like Philly being in what would be New Jersey. Charlette is a bit further south too.

Good map though, much better than the spawns I get. :steamhappy:

I completely understand! I've been watching videos about editing maps for Train Fever (which I'm told is a similar process) and it looks difficult. Thank you for your hard work!
March  [author] 29 Dec, 2016 @ 11:18pm
Yeah, I really want to make it wider. The problem is that it actually takes quite a bit of width to make it wide enough for use. And then I have to take wild guesses for where to put Chicago and Peoria (plus move Peoria to the OTHER side of the river!). The system is very unforgiving on these positions, and it's all trial and error.

I have been planning to adjust the map for these issues, but holidays have absorbed all of my free time of late. Hopefully, I will have a couple hours to spare soon.

Glad you like the map! :)
Jazno 29 Dec, 2016 @ 12:15pm
Let me start by saying this is probably my favorite map on the workshop. I do have one suggestion though.

I think you should make the Chicago River a little wider. In real life barges use the river plus a series of locks to go between Lake Michigan and the Mississippi.
Blake 24 Dec, 2016 @ 6:47am
great map, I am enjoying it.
March  [author] 21 Dec, 2016 @ 11:38am
It's quite alright mar4uder. I too understand the two in the morning conundrum, though for me it's because I have insomnia. :/ It's also really easy to subscribe to mods, and so also easy to accidentally subscribe!

At least you know now that you have that mod, and you can disable it if you prefer, or keep it if you liked it. Plus, with Industry Tycoon, you could even use maps like mine, as that allows you to purchase new industries.

Enjoy! :)
mar4uder 21 Dec, 2016 @ 11:33am
I do owe you an apology. I just went through my list of mods and found the darn industry mod. Dunno how it snuck in, as I have been deliberately avoiding mods, which complicate the industry-chain. Not really my thing. Must have been the first time I added mods. I was going through the entire library. It was two in the morning, and I was struggling to stay awake..........lesson there somewhere....
Anyway - I am sorry for the confusion. It's still a very nice map!
March  [author] 21 Dec, 2016 @ 10:08am
@mar4uder

Here is a screenshot I took from one of my previous games. I was having traffic issues, and sought help on the steam boards. However, there is a farm in the image at the top center.

http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd86/aneiraelf/Food%20logistical%20issues_zps8coy8fq1.jpg

As you can see, no fertilizer is required for the farm.

Vanilla farms produce both grain and livestock as raw materials.

Additionally, milk is not a standard resource either.

Please check your subscribed mods for a mod called "New Industry v1.6.6". That one provides extra industry chains, including both fertilizers and milk.

Either way, thanks for subscribing and enjoy the map. :)
Peak oil 21 Dec, 2016 @ 9:19am
thanks for sharing
mar4uder 21 Dec, 2016 @ 12:59am
Unless I am mistaken, there are six "basic" resources: logs, iron ore, crude oil, stone, coal - and fertilizer. Fertilizers lead to Grain, which leads to Livestock and Milk, which leads to Food. Kinda important, I would think..........*grin*.
mar4uder 21 Dec, 2016 @ 12:49am
*scratches head* I have fertilizers on all other maps.........And I don't have the Extra Industry Chains.
March  [author] 20 Dec, 2016 @ 11:16pm
Fertilizers are only from one of the mods that provide extra industry chains. The map currently holds only the vanilla industries. If you want to use the other chains, you'll need to have the Industry Tycoon mod installed so that you can build your other industries.

Thanks for the compliment! :)
mar4uder 20 Dec, 2016 @ 9:19pm
Very nice map! But it's missing fertilizers - a rather important resource..........
March  [author] 20 Dec, 2016 @ 1:44pm
So is my hometown of Columbus, OH. I am considering adding more towns to areas where there is a significant gap, if the town has a significant history with trains. For example, Chattanooga, TN has that song, and so I feel it should be on the map.
Shrimply Pibbles 20 Dec, 2016 @ 1:38pm
Aw... Birmingham is missing.. :(
March  [author] 19 Dec, 2016 @ 8:56am
It's a 4k map, which is equivalent to large.
SHOGUN 19 Dec, 2016 @ 6:06am
Which size? Medium?, Large??
