Thank you Colonel. I figured it out after a while. I think you are introducing some new players to the game :)
Colonel Failure  [author] 1 Dec, 2018 @ 6:50am
Start a new game, go into advanced options and select the map.

Silver 10 Jan, 2018 @ 11:27pm
Hi Colonel, do you think you can make this map larger, like 4k or 6k?
Soylent_Greene 4 Jan, 2018 @ 11:15am
Hello,

Could you possibly post this map without industries?
I like to have that kind of control over my builds.
Noble six 1 Nov, 2017 @ 4:05pm
it won't work !!!!!!!!!
Noble six 1 Nov, 2017 @ 3:49pm

So it`s me. Thank you man!
Colonel Failure  [author] 19 Jul, 2017 @ 5:58am
Not that I'm aware of Axelsander - in the series I recorded the cities reached a couple of thousand in size and didn't look like they were slowing down.
Schibbi2000 19 Jul, 2017 @ 3:04am
Hi colonel, is there a growth-limit for the cities? I am in 1968 an the cities are not going bigger than 400 Inhibitans. By the wy: great map, it is the 1st time for me playing TF and I took your map for it.
NZ_Wanderer 6 Jul, 2017 @ 2:21pm
Hey Colonel, came up with a sure fired way to solve my trucks getting stuck in traffic like yours were :) - https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=966454761
NZ_Wanderer 5 Jul, 2017 @ 2:09pm
Well as far as I am concerned the Colonel can make any abstract map he likes and I will have a go at using it. - I'm having a great time trying to work through this map and his playthrough. :)
pintobeanz114 5 Jul, 2017 @ 6:02am
Wait, Colonel made this? I didn't know this, silly me. That's awesome!
aero 4 Jul, 2017 @ 1:44pm
Alright, if i had the coding skill and the software to create a website that can replicate thousands of miles of land with extreme precision, all im saying is, that i awfully dont really like the map's quality.
It would have been better if you had took a heightmap of the north atlantic, then used a website to do things with it.
I'd also gladly make a map if i could make it work (Map with no water, game says the city cant render because there is water in the way, what?) Eitherway, you upload what ever the hell you want to the workshop, nothing preventing you from uploading a crude version of europe.
Something makes me really hate un-precisionised maps that are supposed to be of a real life area.
Colonel Failure  [author] 4 Jul, 2017 @ 11:53am
The point is that this is not a 1:1 representation of the globe. It's an abstract map (because it would have to be to fit in the game) which is why the word abstract is used in the description.

Good news, however - you're not obliged to use it. Feel free to use a different North Atlantic map or go make your own, I'll be the first to try it out.
aero 4 Jul, 2017 @ 11:49am
What? the only reason why you have so much people subscribed to the map is because you have a few more subscribers than most people have.
Colonel Failure  [author] 4 Jul, 2017 @ 11:48am
Key word: "abstract".
aero 4 Jul, 2017 @ 11:47am
This is absolutely awful, the countries arent shaped correctly, nor is the land.
NZ_Wanderer 1 Jul, 2017 @ 2:32pm
Thanks for the replies guys :) Opps I must have missed that part where you mentioned the seed :(
I ended up inserting a couple of "dummy" industries into the map.lua file so I had no industries, and figured I would set them up manually as I worked through your series.. - Guess I going to be starting again (for the third time) - Oh well, I getting plenty of practice..
Colonel Failure  [author] 1 Jul, 2017 @ 12:34pm
Exactly right - when setting the map up I opted to lock the position of cities, but left industries to spawn randomly. If you check the first episode in the series I believe I mention the seed I used. This should give you the exact same industry placement.
DragoKen 29 Jun, 2017 @ 11:16pm
On multiple vids he stated that the industries get filled in at random he can only designate their spawn locations (iirc you can use his map seed aswell?)
NZ_Wanderer 28 Jun, 2017 @ 6:15pm
Hey Colonel, follow your you tube videos and love them, you were the cause of me buying transport fever in the summer sale :)
I decided to play along with your North Atlantic series but I seem to have a slight problem, the map isn't the same as the one you are playing with and I don't know what I am doing wrong.
Here is a picture showing you what I mean
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=958690740
notice the industries are not the same as in your map. (even tho I am using your map)
Hogweed Blitz 23 Jun, 2017 @ 4:03pm
Nice Job Colonel! I will use this map and folllow along with your Utube series on this!
kirsh001 17 Apr, 2017 @ 7:02am
I really like the scope of this map. Great youtube series as well
dannyST 5 Apr, 2017 @ 5:29am
Realy like this map. Europe alone accounts for hours and hours of train-fun.
Love the YouTube series as well!

Thanks Colonel!
Hakgova 17 Mar, 2017 @ 12:11pm
Just wondering if it is possible to make the coastal N. America and parts of Europe at a lower sea level? Seems they are incredibly over height for those regions. Or, is this a restriction of the way that the maps are made? By the way, love the YouTube videos on this map series...up to number 43.
veskuFox 7 Mar, 2017 @ 8:48am
lol

thx CF!

Thank you
EnderWiggin07 25 Feb, 2017 @ 10:50pm
Sean, after you click "Free Game", on the right hand side, past "Terrain Type" there's a section to switch the map from "Random" to this one.
sean.pod 25 Feb, 2017 @ 8:57am
What settings do you need to get the map , as i just get regular maps
EnderWiggin07 14 Feb, 2017 @ 5:11pm
Thanks for that. Using the tool I was able to place the raw industries only, then using some file editing, I've set the price of building processing industries to a range from a few hundred thousand up to several million. I don't think I'll upload it as it involves edits to my local files, and wouldn't be a "seamless" download for others to do the same scenario. If you ever wanted to play around with it though, let me know and I can shoot you a message with the edits I made!
Colonel Failure  [author] 14 Feb, 2017 @ 3:00pm
Hey Ender, you can definitely edit the position of industries (much like I've locked the city position). I found this tool very useful - https://www.transportfevermods.com/en/mapcreator.html

If you find the folder this map is installed in you should be able to use it to create your own variant. If you opt to reupload it to the Workshop with your scenario in place a credit would be appreciated.
EnderWiggin07 14 Feb, 2017 @ 2:33pm
Hi, your LPs got me into TF, and I really enjoy playing on this map. I've done only the minumum of research on map creation, but I am looking for a really specific bit of info. Is it possible to control which types of industries spawn in? I'm trying to create a scenario in which only raw resources spawn in, and then "processing" industries are purchased through a modified version of the industry tycoon mod. Would you be able to shed some light on how possible it would be to specify which industries are placed during generation? I would want the placement to remain random, just certain industries wouldn't spawn at all. Thanks.

If you want to contribute Scooby, check the support link in any of my video descriptions. It's not mandatory, but it is most welcome.
