i agree with Beet Farmer, we need the ability to copy a color from dyed armor.

and yes, we do have problems because that part of the description is cursed

@Azazel imagine kink-shaming someone on Steam.

"Besides ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) NSFW reasons, you can make use of the transluency with Slime Race Mod! It makes you look gooey and I like slimes."

Lads, bring inqustion here we got problems

Could you make it so that you can place in a piece of armor and the dye station will make a dye copying that specific color?
vortetty 22 Jul, 2019 @ 7:32pm
can you add support for the quickbar mini mod so it can be used on servers with no crashes?
Slime In A Box 22 Jun, 2019 @ 5:35am
If only I knew how to create things.
Nyan  [author] 22 Jun, 2019 @ 1:14am
@Sirawesome, it is possible to add sliders since Starbound's options menu has them, but it's a bit harder to do than adding number inputs instead. Starbound doesn't have a color wheel so it might take awhile to find a work around for creating one. I didn't want to spend too much effort into upgrading the mod since I've already stopped playing the game.
Slime In A Box 21 Jun, 2019 @ 10:44pm
Is it at all possible to add sliders or a color wheel with a transparency slider? Even if you chose not to is it conceptually possible? Or does Starbound just NOT like that kind of thing. (by which I mean, does it cause the game to flip out and crash.)
Nyan  [author] 12 Jun, 2019 @ 2:32pm
@Mr. Pockets, sadly they don't exactly work the same way as how clothes/armors are dyed so it'll take more than just simple modding to make it work (they don't have those nice settings that the clothes/armors have since they are already dye-able with vanilla dyes.)
Mr. Pockets 11 Jun, 2019 @ 3:17am
Is there any way to dye weapons? I love a lot of the Frackin Universe weapons, but the color schemes are off at times, and it hurts my soul.
Nyan  [author] 21 Aug, 2018 @ 2:14am
@CheshAmoeba, you'll have to create a copy of the protectorate armor and modify it so that the logo is different from the affected pixels.
CheshAmoeba 21 Aug, 2018 @ 12:32am
I'm curious if there's some way to patch the protectorate items so that the logo doesn't change...Maybe I'll look into it?

Has anyone heard of any rainbow dye mods. nothing goes great with the rainbow cape and hood
Nyan  [author] 3 Jul, 2018 @ 10:47pm
@TheOpaque, they can wear the dyed clothing even without the mod. It functions similarly to vanilla (not modded) starbound dyes, but mine does it manually.
Gatorade Raccoon 3 Jul, 2018 @ 11:19am
What happens if another player gets the dyed clothing or the dye who doesn’t have the mod installed?
AzzyBelle 21 Mar, 2018 @ 1:35pm
I think I could live with that, I had considered trying to make one myself but... I don't know how to mod anything.
Nyan  [author] 20 Mar, 2018 @ 10:02am
@Cunty Kitty, I'll be adding that in the next update. Sadly, only hue can be changed.
AzzyBelle 19 Mar, 2018 @ 4:09pm
Think you'd consider doing something like this, for the various blocks? There's one out there already, but it doesn't work quite as well as I'd like. :< I can provide links for reference if needed.

@Nyan oh no problem i was just asking
Nyan  [author] 13 Feb, 2018 @ 4:40am
@Exodia, Die Verbotene, sadly I don't think Starbound supports that kind of coloring since we can only replace existing colors with solid colors, meaning I can't make vertical lines with different colors that form a rainbow or a per-pixel coloring.
Robukhelfer 11 Feb, 2018 @ 11:23am
could you make a option to have a rainbow color like in the picture?
Sentient Cookie 7 Feb, 2018 @ 12:15am
Different? You mean it looks better. :D
Nyan  [author] 7 Feb, 2018 @ 12:02am
Still the same, just looks different.
Nyan  [author] 7 Feb, 2018 @ 12:02am
@Izzazal, I changed it.
SleepySheepy 6 Feb, 2018 @ 2:42pm
This isn't how I remember the dye station
Nyan  [author] 5 Feb, 2018 @ 2:17am
@moomal, that's actually a good idea. Though I'll have to find some time to do it since I have other things to do, but rest assured this will be added. Thanks for the suggestion.
moomal 4 Feb, 2018 @ 10:16pm
Could you add an option to edit the hex value directly?
Kordharin 27 Dec, 2017 @ 7:34pm
Doesn't work with weapons... :steamsad:

(I make custom weapons with the Weapon Fusion & Weapon Assembly mods)
SleepySheepy 20 Nov, 2017 @ 5:52pm
@Loial-the-Ogier It does work in mutiplayer
Nyan  [author] 16 Nov, 2017 @ 4:57am
@Loial-the-Ogier, I've never tested it with multiplayer since I made it with only single player in mind. The modifications made by the dye station should work with multiplayer as it only modifies the directives of the drawables (Starbound allows you to change your outfit without modding; https://www.reddit.com/r/starbound/comments/54cbvi/serverside_mods/) . The dye station and the custom dyes, however, only work if both clients have the mod.
Loial-the-Ogier 15 Nov, 2017 @ 6:34pm
It sounds like this mod only works in single player mode then... Is that correct?

I know that it is a client-side mod, and not server-side. Sometimes client-side stuff creates cosmetic changes for the player with the mod, leaving the objects looking the same as they origianlly did to the other players. ...but it sounds like in this case it may be causing multiplayer crashes.
Nyan  [author] 10 Oct, 2017 @ 5:11am
@spacialfries, unfortunately the error is beyond my control since its a memory access violation (meaning a faulty coding on Starbound's side). There are several fixes for this but there's no real way of dealing with it. Some people have tried running it manually (launching it through F:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\win64\starbound.exe) and updating their graphics driver. The best way to go about it is to remove the mod but I've heard it has nothing to do with mods. Sadly that's all I could give you. Hope this helps.
Mellocide 9 Oct, 2017 @ 3:00pm
okay, very strange. it seems to work on single player fine, it was crashing my friend's server. we have all the same mods, though. might invite them onto mine next time we play since it's working for me.

dumped them on a side blog.

Nyan  [author] 9 Oct, 2017 @ 3:59am
@spacialfries, it works fine for me. It's most likely a conflict with another mod. If you can send me the error log, it will help a lot. You can find the log named 'starbound.log' in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\storage
Mellocide 8 Oct, 2017 @ 6:11pm
crashes game with a violation error when placed in world :( saved an image of the error message if it'll help. i have a handful of mods so it might be something with that but its sad that i cant have something to match my novakid's colour.
Nyan  [author] 30 Sep, 2017 @ 2:38pm
@parakeet54, it only works on armors, the same way normal dyes work.
Synthis Bioji 30 Sep, 2017 @ 9:46am
Does it work on epps?
Loial-the-Ogier 11 Aug, 2017 @ 3:48pm
Very cool customizatin mod!!
Living Phoenix (Legoman403) 29 Jun, 2017 @ 6:15pm
it is fun having more customization for outfits for this game:steamhappy:
Sera 26 Jun, 2017 @ 3:35pm
Cool thank you for letting me know and I am glad I was able to help you.
Nyan  [author] 26 Jun, 2017 @ 2:31am
@fang24, I added the question to the FAQ. Thanks for reminding!
Nyan  [author] 26 Jun, 2017 @ 2:28am
@fang24, the armor stays with the same dye even if you remove the mod. The mod is simply a non-cheating way of doing it (you can do this with admin commands).
Sera 26 Jun, 2017 @ 12:05am
Ok I have one question that i did not see in your QnA. If you have a dyed bit of armor and you remove the mod will it stay as a kind of "custom" armor/weapon or will it turn into the green cube?

ID of the item?
Nyan  [author] 14 May, 2017 @ 11:04am
@Tawoorie, I didn't expect a mod that can recolor weapons so mine would definitely not work with his, but that's actually pretty cool. Mine translates the colors into hexadecimal so mods that use vanilla dyes will not work. Thank you for testing.
Tawoorie 14 May, 2017 @ 10:04am
meh, Weapon Coloring Station just nopes at your dyes. thanks anyway
