Not really, after revising the code I must admit it is a poorly thought calculation. It does damage in multiples of 20. Even if it's an old addon, I should revise it.

I think it was an iteration of freespace.
If by "now" you mean "6 years ago" then yeah I guess so.
Sorry for the EXTREMELY LONG RESPONSE...I didn't notice that you posted the comment.
Okay, its just a person talked about that (which I looked at this fact by using Fall Damage with one of the tools I used on one of my friends who was holding a lightsaber, took no damage, took full damage when I shot him with suit power).
Btw, ED2 wasn't incompatible. I brought it up because I can bash my head against the roof and take fall damage without it being blocked by suit power whilst being blocked by addons. It has normal fall damage behaviors, and it does not affect the addon in any way (hasn't to me).
I don't know if the Steam CDN screwed up or something, but I've been testing it with suit battery, and it doesn't get blocked. The health taken from the player is the same and the suit power does not go down.
Unless I'm missing something out, the damage structure that the player takes has its damage type set to DMG_FALL, which is the falling damage.
Aside from Enhanced Damage 2.0, what other addons are incompatible?
One thing that I seemed to slip by, the convars (and menu options) were kinda screwed up, so I fixed them.
Just in case, delete the .gma file and start the game again (sometimes the updates don't download).
Water fall damage can be blocked with suit power. Addons are incompatible though.
However, normal falling damage can only be blocked with addons. This makes the two exact opposites.
I'm pretty sure you didn't use the Fall Damage damage type, since I have Enhanced Damage 2.0 and I can bash my head against the roof, take fall damage (because it does that in ED2), and nothing can block it (other than addons).
Nope. Player's only.
Although realistic collisions causing damage do go for this order:
Solid (Source engine)
Liquid (This mod)
Gas (Neither)
However, if they're all the same material (iron per say) then the liquid would actually be much more dangerous than the solid, and the gas even more than the LIQUID compared to the solid.
I noticed that taking in account the fact that on low level water you can hit the floor should be a thing.
Also I usually make fast responses because I don't get a lot of notifications, so it's easy to respond one by one.
Once I get some time for the mod I will consider adding these features.
If you reach the bottom of the water (small pool per say), it does normal falling damage.
I'd honestly go for a "reentry" style feature doing constant damage while falling in the water, and if another mod where if you go too fast and you have a mod for unlimited speeds, ohhhhhh yes...
Probably that sort of mod would end up in a lot of fire, dropping from you and going on you.
Then a mod that makes the ground enterable from high enough velocities, so if a ragdoll goes super fast it enters the ground, makes an explosion and flies back up around 20% velocity going back up. Oh man that'd be beautiful and so so realistic. Btw, nice work so far.
Maybe these things would be in a different mod, and so that there's no requirement for another mod and just expansion using another mod.
I typically don't do criticism, but when I do, I give a reason.
I suggest that instead of removing the height thing, you have a the feature toggleable (initially on) to let people who WANT a short fall going 3042912395814390581439682349086 km/s to not kill them to not kill them.
Btw, I am the complete opposite of that wanting that to kill me ingame because it makes sense. Logical sense. :)
Hope this isn't hard to bring into the mod, I know that modders have a hard time. Obviously, it SHOULD (emphasis on SHOULD) be easier than making a game itself and an engine themselves.
Btw thanks for being nice about my suggestion. Also, didn't expect a quick response like that.
Thanks for the constructive criticism.
At first I wanted to try not to make this addon too annoying, and put the limitations I thought at first would work better. I knew it wasn't the best way, that's why I said This addon can be balanced with the proper feedback. in the description.
I'll take your feedback into consideration, and will consider these changes.
Even though, I'm sorry to say this but, I do not promise to release a patch soon (for time constraints), although I do not give up the idea.
Also, suggestion for a new addon: An addon designed for if you hit the wall at a high speed, you take falling damage, and same for roofs, or anything else really.
And finally, I'm going to say...height shouldn't have a say in it. It makes no sense and has no sense of realism. If you're going 1000 km/s (I have a mod that removes the limit now) and you land suddenly, you should die, but if you're going UNNOTICEABLE SPEEDS you shouldn't die even though you're 100 meters in the air. Yes, that high kills you with the 1000 km/s, but it shouldn't kill you in that puny of a speed.
How?
