when you activate this mod, a new game is created without a research ship and there is no way to build it in the shipyard!

I like InsidiousDoomSquirrel's suggestion. Also, I wish it were possible to make military ships auto-explore. At the start fo the game for instance, it's most useful to send off your corvettes to the far reaches of the galaxy.

Rem and IvanK, it's already researched from the begning of the game.... it's a starting tech now, just go to your science ship and you will see the correct button enabled

Installed mod, but I never get the event, have tried multiple games. I start it unpause and even reload the game, I have even given it a couple of months to see if it will trigger but it doesn't.

I think it's better this way, actually, for the graceful start. However I am curious how AI is programmed to interact with this Science Ship feature...

Sweet. I thought about this the first 3-4 hours or so in the game "Why is there no auto-survey as most other space games?" And then i found it.. Loooong into the research-tree..
I don't really find the logic in that. "Oh, we can create cold fusion, plasma weapons and warp drives, but we can't design an AI to auto-pilot for unchartered stars, or give orders to the scientist to do his work"..

Are you sure that the mod is enabled (not only subscribed) ?? It's a new game or a old one?
