Is it possible to have JUST "Realistic Ships" and not the NSC at all?
I just tested your setup (plus a UI mod) and it works fine for me.
This mod, of course.
(-New Ship Classes & More v7.0-)
Realistic Ships
ISBS: Doomsday Weapons & Ships
And nothing else. When I go to create a new race or edit an existing one, as soon as I get to the ship appearance tab, I get a hard CTD. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
You do not need both Master patches, which is most likely where your issue is. If you use ISB Balance, use the Balance patch only. If you use Doomsday only, use this patch. If you use both, use the Balance patch.
Did i f/u my game by wrong research order?
Is there a techtree showing the prerequesite tech(so i know what to research) or is my setup wrong?
I agree with your assessment, and I will look into it and divide up the bonuses so they come after the ship class itself. NSC actually has this problem with the Battleship Assembly Yard, as the Battleship is one tech behind it, but overwriting vanilla files is something we actively try to avoid.
I'm about to start updating these patches for NSC 7.0 and hopefully the upcoming 1.8 patch, so your timing is really good. LOL. RS is also about to get Titans (after Patch 1.8) and I did suggest to Tal that he should separate out those 3 classes, because right now the Battleship with all 3 together is rather useless. So hopefully I'll catch that one too.
With the patch active HDN techs came much later, so if you research the BS assembly yard tech asap you cannot use the module straight away, for just the BS.
In my view, to make things coherent, it would be better to have a basic BS assembly yard module (bonuses for BS and DN), available with just its tech, and the advanced dedicate HDN-only modules that become availabe with the corresponding HDN tech. In this way you will be required to consume an additional module slot, but this is coherent with the special nature of the HDNs.
I would try to make a modmod myself but I'm not enough confident with modding to be able to override other mods changes.
I have split my patches to support ISB Balance and ISB Doomsday separately. This particular patch now only services ISB Doomdsay. While it can technically support ISB Balance, it doesn't support it fully or well , thus the split. There is a link to the new ISB Balance patch in the description above.
In the description, I note that all 5 mods are all POSSIBLE variations of mods that COULD be required. At most, you can run 4 of the 5 required mods. You cannot run both NSC Main and Streamlined at the same time, but you require one of them to run. Both ISB mods can be run together, but you don't need to, you really just need one or the other. You will need Realistic Ships no matter what.

Just thought I'd ask because on SGM's page he says each ship class needed to be added one at a time, he says NSC is built in ready to go but I was not sure if via this master patch if that built in compatabilty might be changed / broken as this is loading after NSC ect.
My suggestion is you learn how to mod files yourself. This isn't as difficult as you may think. The auras file isn't too difficult, you just need to learn what this version of Alphamod did to the file and what RS does.
I can help you out with that if you would like, but I won't be making a patch for two mods where I somewhat use one and I haven't heard of before. My time here modding is very limited, so I don't wnat to do something then not mantain it.
Sorry, should have been clearer that I wasn't referring to NSC. "AlphaMod: The Fleet" has a compatibility issue with Realistic Ship that causes the support cruiser to be not workable in the game.
I know this might not be the right place to ask, but just wondering if it would be possible for you to add compatibility for "Alphamod: The Fleet". It's another AlphaMod add-on. Thank you.
The one issue I couldn't fix immediately is the localisation one, where the RS and NSC ships don't actually "have" the "NSC" or "RS" in front of the ship class name. Tal Ara'nh combined all his localisation into one file, which means I would have to overwrite ALL RS localisation to fix it. I would prefer to avoid this if at all possible, as it would require me to update every minor change for localisation, which is a pain. I've contacted Tal Ara'nh about this, and as soon as I know his response, I'll update the mod accordingly.
Just a question , i my game it seems that the battlecruiser NSC and RS are not identified by their origin anymore! So i've got two "Battlecruisers" type but can't kwow anymore wich is NSC or RS !
Is it a bug , a miss in the coding ? or a problem on my end ? other ship classes are identified NSC or RS as intended...
can you help ?
Thank you very much
Regards.
