so I think that I will maintain the other version instead.
is an awesome fascist path! You should go Rex my friends! ;)
As a general rule, to improve your generals fight with them.
- 'Thirty Year Plan for the Political Emancipation of Belgian Africa', this could then attach a autonomy gaining trait to a National spirit, that would require the DLC but somthing can be done.
Lots of those companies were not military designers, I guess I could investigate about the trucks they used but I think that they were given by the british but I am not sure at all.
After a little research they will get the SBR.
-Mobutu was too young and the africans were still restricted to the lower ranks of the military. A fascist congo can only be a group of belgian more or less pro nazi officers taking over in order to avoid helping britain.
-If the nation were to go Democratic, it could carry with it national spirits that make it difficult but not impossible to be democratic
that's indeed something I had in mind, now I don't want to copy events from the 1950's, the real problem is that there are too few black people able to take control of the Congo at the time, I have nobody besides Kaza-Vubu and he was still around 20.
Another tree, could be enacted after the end of the War, where an event could be triggered either by Belgium or the Belgian Congo, which would cover Belgian professor Antoine van Bilsen treatise called 'Thirty Year Plan for the Political Emancipation of Belgian Africa', this could then attach a autonomy gaining trait to a National spirit, fist in front of the flag of the Belgian Congo or some such, so that you can remain loyal to Belgium during the war, and then after the war still have the option to go independent.
Then, there is also a number of Flavour things that could be done for the Congo, including Belgian companies in the companies list in place of the generic Company logos.
If the nation were to go Democratic, it could carry with it national spirits that make it difficult but not impossible to be democratic, as there could be national spirits such as 'Simba rebelion' or 'Congo crisis' with various negative effects, which could later be mitigated with national focus events. (E.g, an event 'European hostages' could occur which would sour relationships with some nations, such as Belgium, and then could end with either a triggered or random event 'Operation Dragon Rouge'.
There could be a national spirt with an image of the Belgian Congo flag or seal, with some sort of old type manuscript superimposed or some such, with the national spirit title 'Évolué' refering to Africans or Asians whom had 'Evolved' by being Europeanised through education or assimilation, this could be attached to the base nation from the start or implemented with a National Focus. This could carry with it both benefits and negatives (E.g,20% decreased research time for industrial or computer based technologies, -5 national unity because of resentment from other Africans in the Congo)
Well, the Fascist tree could lead to the Congo becoming Zaire under Mobutu Sese Seko, with its own sort of changes to the country, including national spirits such as 'Authenticité' which could have all sorts of effects on the country, national unity increases or some such, which involves changing city names and encouraging African nationalism and such. This would change the flag of the Congo to Zaires flag, and the nations name to Zaire.
A third point that I omitted voluntarilly are the riots that were due to the mobilization of the population in order to gather a maximum of ressources, especially when they had to extract latex in plantations then go in the jungle to extract more of it from the wild vines.
Then of course there are the fascist and communist paths, some events could be added, but the question is of course what, because bad content is always worse than nothing at all.
That's it for now and indeed as most of the events target other countries it's indeed relatively poor. In fact i had vague ideas about events but I chose to show those through focuses instead.
But there are also the stuffs I decided to left out at first because they weren't fitting nicely in the focuses.
So on that matter what can be done, well the conspiracy of people in touch with the colonial defence associations in order to overthrow the general governor and join the war with the allies could be interresting... but due to the mecanics of the game the congo never stays neutral unless the person playing Belgium refuse the participation of the Congo on purpose.
Another element is the removal of royal portraits. It's not as radical as burning them but it was important as it clearly showed that they recognized only the government in exile in London, voluntarily ignoring the king who was in captivity at the time.
For you i will make a list of the events about the congo:
1) A small event chain about rifles sending belgian rifles (as they did in 1938), I hope that it will work with the AI, if it tends to create divisions too quickly it may take a while to trigger. We will see.
2) The katanga Uranium event chain (but it mostly involves others as the Congo has access to the mines anyway.
3) Renaming the congolese cities if you are communist.
4) Finance fighters for Britain or Belgium...well Belgium and hte UK those who receive the event...but it wouldn't work without the congo focus.
5) Events for communist congo to influence Liberia and South Africa
6) Events to join factions, the south african communist faction (african union), the comintern or the axis.
I have ideas for the coup that was plotted to overthrow/force the general governor to go to war (basically the impact of extreme members of the colonial defense associations) but due to the mecanic of the game the congo will mechanically joins the war so it's not really necessary. Another interresting point would be the sabotages of the actions of german agents in Matadi but without a proper esionnage system it would be difficult to do.
Last but not least something must be done about the "police formation" because the MP support is actually one of the shittiest thing in the game. So it makes sense scenaristically but not much in terms of gameplay.
