Glad you liked it and thanks for your visit. I’ll be back!

Thanks for the fix. Have been playing thru your wonderful maps. Giving my old noggin quite a workout. Appears you may have retired from the craft, or maybe just working on something truly diabolical (I hope).
Polux  [author] 20 Apr, 2023 @ 2:05am
That's weird. Anyway I have republished the map and waited 50 cube drops in game, everything seems to be working fine. Thank you for letting me know.
skosh 19 Apr, 2023 @ 6:18pm
Map no longer works (at least not for me). Tried numerous times to get recurring drop on second cube, but stops after only one or two drops .... https://youtu.be/LI-P07jUDyw .
Polux  [author] 8 Jun, 2021 @ 1:13pm
I confirm lol

I'm dumb lmao

:maglike: https://youtu.be/UTtrKR7Xbl4 Yeah, I know this solution is intended. I spent way too much time to find out the ending move, so I had to make a video. Cool map!
SpKi 26 Jan, 2020 @ 3:16am
I think I got really lucky with this one. The only part I got stuck on for a while was getting the 2nd cube, however, I somehow managed to work out the ending in about 10 minutes. But either way, this is a really great map with some interesting ideas. I liked it a lot - thumbs up and faved.
Polux  [author] 12 Dec, 2019 @ 10:03am
That's true. I remember that I took the inspiration in one of his maps.
Thanks.

This is so cool! The only other map I can think of with this mechanism is Devil's Spawn from Libby
Nobody No-One 29 Apr, 2019 @ 9:18pm
Very cool map with some creative moves. I accidentally got a spoiler from reading the comments that cube tilting would be involved, but it still took me a long time to solve. Getting the 2nd cube was the hardest part for me. Thumbs up.
Joric 11 Feb, 2019 @ 7:16pm
@Polux, wow. Can you show us the miracle of 2-cube climbing on a 64-unit block here, Nacreous Classic ? I couldn't do it but people keep telling that's possible.
Polux  [author] 10 Feb, 2019 @ 3:56am
Ok you won my friend request ;D
Joric 10 Feb, 2019 @ 1:49am
My playthrough, 4 minutes: https://youtu.be/FEp2eIs6Haw unbelievably cool, pure Polux.
Polux  [author] 5 Feb, 2019 @ 4:25am
I agree ... well, depends on how you do it : https://youtu.be/U6s-JABhIzg . Quite easy and you can try again and again, but where I'm not satisfied is that you can fall into the goo under the cube dropper while moving back.
Thanks for playing!
Leo 3 Feb, 2019 @ 7:56am
Nice map with some clever mechanics. However I don't really like how you have to move the 1st cube while aiming the laser below the 2nd cube while it falls to not break the loop until you place the 1st cube where it has to be. I think it's a bit tedious. Apart from that I find it to be a very cool and creative puzzle with few elements.
Polux  [author] 30 Jan, 2019 @ 1:52pm
Haha, few elements but this puzzle is definitly not easy.
Thanks.
bullfrog 30 Jan, 2019 @ 1:05am
I played this puzzle over a year ago. I managed to get both cubes and had worked out what the end moves were, but couldn’t fill in the gap and still couldn’t, so I looked at the walkthrough... yes, yes, yes, damn, yes... ho hum! Anyway; this is a brilliant puzzle; thumbs up and added to favourites, even though I only solved 90% of it.
Polux  [author] 27 Jan, 2019 @ 2:59pm
Hey. Thanks for playing, but I'm sure you could solve it all by yourself :/
:)
Gigo 27 Jan, 2019 @ 11:27am
Really nice puzzle, but I had to look at the solution a few times :/
Polux  [author] 9 Aug, 2018 @ 11:28am
100% intended GG.

sv_enableholdrotation 1 doesent work in console
zeo1337 16 Oct, 2017 @ 10:03am
You could have a room with 2 reflection cubes that needs 3 to win. The third is in the dropper :D
Polux  [author] 15 Oct, 2017 @ 4:24pm
Yep, I know this trick but I don't think it can be helpful ..
zeo1337 15 Oct, 2017 @ 2:35pm
I figured I'd try some new things while I'm at it. Found out I could do this: https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/878625026160321426/A6A2488D4413E2536384CB87AE0B6C22C10ABD4B/

Excellent laser puzzle, very challenging, but I think I was able to solve it the intended way. No obscure angles, all logic, just the way I like it. Thanks! :SBpenguin:
Polux  [author] 1 Apr, 2017 @ 4:47pm
I found the solution that should put everyone in agreement :)
"sv_enableholdrotation 0/1 - If enabled, objects can be freely rotated with the Portal Device when holding the secondary fire key."
This command can be automaticaly enabled when you spawn the map. Of course, some indications are necessary in the description.

However, I wonder if this works for you .. not me :(
hestia.is.bestia 30 Mar, 2017 @ 5:04am
Yes I know what the word means, but it's highly unlikely for any new player to discover the cube tip trick by himself while thinking about a map's solution. I think that a good puzzle should have the solution be hidden behind good move sequences so that any player new or old has a chance to solve as long as they try hard enough. I think sendificate 4 taught the cube tip trick in the best possible way.
Polux  [author] 30 Mar, 2017 @ 4:49am
Sometimes, science progresses by finding what we do not seek.
I invit you to search what the word 'serendipity' means.
Of course, there are pros and cons.
hestia.is.bestia 30 Mar, 2017 @ 4:08am
@Polux, I think your step works well so it should make the intent clear. Of course if there was a button to tip the cube then there wouldn't be any need for discussing this.

@libbybapa I believe the creativity should lie in terms of logical strategies. Ill use chess as an example again. The number of ways any give piece can move is fixed and well known, but the various move patterns that you can do with them is where the creativity lies. Inventing a new move that someone might possibly not know is not the way to go about it.
Polux  [author] 29 Mar, 2017 @ 12:19pm
Great question ...
Too bad there is not a keyboard key to flip easily the cube.
hestia.is.bestia 29 Mar, 2017 @ 10:54am
You just said in a previous comment you dislike gimmicky tricks. Now you are using a different word to refer to the same thing in a positive way?
hestia.is.bestia 29 Mar, 2017 @ 10:29am
Basically what I'm trying to say is at any step a player, new or old, shouldn't after seeing the solution go like "I'd didn't know you could do that. It totally makes everything easy." Instead my idea of a good puzzle is that which contains only obvious moves but makes the player think which is the best/correct move to proceed, like in chess. If you've played any of DrFrauli's puzzles you'll know what I mean.
hestia.is.bestia 29 Mar, 2017 @ 10:26am
Many of the Portal 1 challenges involved breaking the game. Some even included peek a portal which they have thankfully patched in this game although not completely.
hestia.is.bestia 29 Mar, 2017 @ 9:23am
Tipping a cube is definitely not an intended trick, which is why the game has no legitimate method of tipping it. It has to do with messing with the physics engine. You can't even pick up and relocate the cube when its tipped over. You have to push it. How is that a legitimate mechanic. It's something map designers should avoid or make clear like in the map Sendificate 4. As for my map, it requires that many connections to force a complex solution that requires a more chess like approach to the puzzle where you analyse puzzle states and possibilities. It isn't about any "cool move" but actually about solving a puzzle via elimination of many possible moves till you find the correct move. I'm fairly certain you wont be able to solve it without using any glitch or cheats.
hestia.is.bestia 28 Mar, 2017 @ 11:59pm
@libbybapa, why don't you try to solve my map then https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=817200788 . If you really think a difficult map has only to be made up of obscure community invented tricks then you are dead wrong. A difficult puzzle only needs to have logical complexity. There are many difficult and logical maps that use only rules well established by the base game. I think you have been limiting yourself to maps with gimmicky difficulty so that you are missing out on logical difficulty.
Polux  [author] 27 Mar, 2017 @ 5:43am
Updated. Thanks for your feedback.
hestia.is.bestia 27 Mar, 2017 @ 2:29am
Yes, that would be much better. It would also make the intent clear because such tricks only come up in unintended solutions because the crouching cube-flip trick is not well known.
Polux  [author] 27 Mar, 2017 @ 2:20am
Yes, intended. Maybe a little step would be better in order to help you flipping the cube.
hestia.is.bestia 27 Mar, 2017 @ 1:48am
I'm not sure if I solved it the right way, but my solution involved flipping the second cube to face up to the ceiling portal surface like this https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=892467523 . If that was intended, then I really dislike such cheap engine tricks. But I really don't see another way. If this isn't intended please let me know so I'll give this puzzle another go.
Spaceminnow 23 Feb, 2017 @ 12:22pm
What rules were broken in your puzzle? I don't understand. Also which puzzle did win? I would like to try it. I am not sure where to look for contest events...
Polux  [author] 22 Feb, 2017 @ 3:09pm
Thanks guys.
No problem about the contest, rules are rules.
Spaceminnow 21 Feb, 2017 @ 1:51pm
This puzzle is great! I see this maybe a contest puzzle. This puzzle may win. I don't know what the other contestant puzzles look like...but this one must be on the close to winning end.
Polux  [author] 16 Feb, 2017 @ 5:42am
I know that I can't be totally relaxed before the passage of Prototype ..
Indeed, not exactly intended but you did most of the puzzle in the right way.
I'm guessing I will have to add a glass somewhere ;)
Hope you enjoyed it, thanks!
Prototype 16 Feb, 2017 @ 5:22am
I'm guessing my solution isn't intended.
Polux  [author] 9 Feb, 2017 @ 12:47am
Your final solution is intended, thanks!
