Hey everyone! I have taken over the maintenance of the Starchef mod with Vanthexi's permission. Unfortunately, due to the way that Steam handles (or, rather, fails to handle) mod authorship, I have had to upload a new version of Starchef in order to become its maintainer. Please unsubscribe from this mod, as it's now outdated, and subscribe to the new one in order to update to the current version. Your recipes, items, and everything else from the old mod will not be affected. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Hey, everyone, I'm going through doing bugfixes that will be in the next update. So far I've fixed the Blue Cupcake and the Whipped Cream Pie Slice effect problems, but if there are any more please post them in the Bugs thread! Thanks!

@vanthexi Haha no worries; I really like this mod and it didn't take me that long to make a fix. And, yeah, making me a contributor probably is the easiest.

@Miss Andri I'd actually forgotten about/lost interest with updating this mod, I take it as a compliment that you went to the trouble of fixing it for me, haha.
I'm a total noob to the workshop too, but think the best way to apply the fix would be for me to add you as a contributor to the mod, if you don't mind me sending you a friend request. That way you'll get credit as well!

@vanthexi Actually, I tested it out and it's a bit more complicated than that for vanilla items without recipes and items that you add more than one recipe to. I have a fixed version that works and I'm watching this thread, so give me a shoutout and I'd be more than happy to give it to you.

@vanthexi You're overwriting the vanilla recipies with your patches. You need to change "/learnBlueprintsOnPickup" to ""/learnBlueprintsOnPickup/-" and remove the [] around your "value".

For example, your milk.consumable.patch should be as follows:

]

That way it'll add the cream to the existing array of blueprints instead of overwriting it with a new array.

Cheese would be a nice addition.

Blue cupcake causes a crash due to an unknown effect

Finding the missing recipes some people are having (like cheese) strange, because the mod does not change the original recipes at all, it simply adds the new ones...

@The man behind the mask I'm getting the same problem here. I can't make cheese anymore after installing this mod. What gives?

I'm wondering if this will work with the no decay mod?
Cause it's a great mod but I hate the fact that I have to keep tossing out food cause I don't eat it.
Also any friges won't keep the decay stopped.

funny thing : you could make some cheese if you got the crafting recipe but it is no longer unlocked by picking up milk

There seems to be a problem with the individual slices of whipped cream pie slice, as there is a typo in the buffs it gives, whenever you try to eat a slice of whipped cream pie it will crash saying there isn't such a buff as lowgraw

Also I can't find where to cook cheese toast

@Librarylasz Ok, thank you. I don't know how, I just never looked at the basic crafting menu or saw the ability to make meat chunks first.

@Allergic to Bullets: It's in the basic crafting menu. I think you learn the recipe when you make Meat Chunks the first time.

Ok, maybe i'm just dumb, but where or how am i supposed to get Raw Sausage without admin commands? Is it like how you get steak and poultry where you hunt animals?

@smurflee: I didn't change any vanilla recipes. Looking through the files, you make cheese on the sides tab of a cooking table, using one milk though

@Royal Starlord: yeah, you can barbeque or fry tentacles with this mod. as for just straight up cooking them, I'm pretty sure the vanilla game does that.

Can this mod add in the ability to cook tentacles? There is another mod that can do such a thing, but the modder is not responding... 'A';;

Since this is the only mod that changes my recipes, I'm thinking it would be this one, but I may be wrong. I'm having trouble finding cheese. I have milk, cream, butter, everything else in the diary that I need. But for some reason I can't make cheese. I didn't know if you maybe changed that recipe or something. I can get it in admin mode but that's it. I can also buy it, but I cannot craft it at the kitchen counter with milk.

@TheNarwhal, I just made jam with and without my mod installed on a few different characters. Since pearlpea jam is learned from sugar, try using /admin to spawn sugar onto yourself, your character might relearn the recipe~

I'm gonna cry. One of my mods changed how jam is learned, because I have sugar, I've even held a jar of jam that I made on a previous character before I installed some mods, and yet I can't make it.

I'd like to put this on my server to have more food variety, but stacking + not rotting makes these foods too OP, so no one would use the vanilla foods anymore.

@PeculiarPsychopath but, if you take a look at the original food sprites in Starbound, they have the same black outline. I say it makes the mod foods blend in well with the original game.

Finnaly, a proper cooking mod!

I don't like the black outlines around the sprites, but looks like a good mod.

@blair4157 Just tested it and it worked for me, hm.. You sure you're looking under the right tab? it's the crafting table tab with the bottle. Try spawning milk and see if it unlocks. If not, you can try /spawnitem creamcarton
