I love this. Super cute, and it's great that the dog doesn't bark as much. Somehow I don't mind as much having to tell a dog to back up from a doorway, unlike Lydia who needs a good fus ro dah to get her to move. These pets have that menu option!
Heads up, however, that if you try both pets then decide you don't want one of them, and send "home" the one you don't want, both will still come if you whistle. So you probably have to uninstall then reinstall and just adopt the one you want.
Also, the dog gets obsessed by some game mechanics, and will stay sniffing at walls, etc. Must be those invisible Skyrim mice. The dog eventually catches up.

Can anyone explain the whole 'doggy biscuit' thing? Animals do not eat them from their inventory, and they're not available at feeding time.
Also, there is the Question from Beard Manly :
"I don't seem to understand how the animals' affection level works, and does it have any bearing on gameplay at all?"
OK, I understand if you accidently (or intentionally) attack the animals it lowers the affection level, and I've pushed it into negative 3 digit numbers, and the little creatures still hang, so what is the point?

I can't adopt the pets. Ran'dir doesn't have any dialogue options. So how can I get started?

i can talk to her but all she says is "Yes" "need something" there is no option to get the dogs

I wasn't able to download the texture skins from the link you provided. Kinda pissed as I had to pay the membership fee on the site to download it-then for it not to work...

Really cool mod. My only complaint is that it doesn't enter places with you. So whenever you go through a door to a new area (like into a gated hold, or into a building, or into my Hearthfire house), it doesn't follow you into it. But that's why the whistle is there. Once I use the whistle, it appears next to me regardless.

I can't seem to activate my dog's inventory. Any way to fix that? Before I had a mod which enabled an inventory on 'Stray Dog' so I figure that might've somehow messed it up or something.

I love this mod so much! This is the way animal followers should have been done in the game in the first place. Now my wood elf ranger has the pet fox that I always wanted her to have! One question, though... why does it say that the doggy biscuits cause poison damage? :(

(And for anyone who can't talk to Ran'dir, I had the same problem. Just save when you meet her, back out and load your game again. That fixed it for me.)

Ignore SkyUI and SKSE if you don't want to mess with Skyrim, I personally have made do without it for 2 years, and no, this mod does not require SkyUI

xion_xvi: If Mod Manager can't find your skyrim then it either means it's not located in the default location or it doesn't recognize it. Is your skyrim a legit copy or is it a cracked version?

There's this "SkyUI" thing that a lot of cool mods I've found and wanted to use require. I do not know where to get SkyUI from (and if it's on Nexus… I've not figured out how to get that to work; if I download just the mods, I don't know how to install them, and when I tried to download the Nexus mod manager, it couldn't find the installer-thingy for Skyrim so I wound up just deleting it [since it didn't work for me… at all {Skyrim is the only game I have/play on the computer}]), so that basically meant I could not use those mods (which… makes me sad, to put it mildly).

Basically… Does this mod require SkyUI? Or will it work without it?
