I like the mimc's as living things, but I want a bit more obvious tell than having to get realy close to the chest, something I could forget easy

this is really cool, i love mimics too, i was dissapointed that mimics werent an actual monster that you had to kill

i was certainly confused when i took damage from a random chest. i later learned mimics were in the games and i was surprised to have never encountered one! this animation does help to give it more life ^ ^
however, back in pre-ab+, i modded the spiked chests to be more purple, and i think it looks better that way. i dunno man, i think it could use some more saturation in it, buuuuuut i really like the idea of more mimics, so good job ^ ^

@Zod™ We plan to add more :) This is basiclly version 0.01. If you look in the code its a new entity that simply replaces the mimic when it spawns. I did this so we are able to do more and change what it does easier.

What I meant was that the game already has an animation for it. If you walk close to the chest, it pops up spikes, showing the player its a spiked chest. What your mod does is just add an extra animation to the pop up spikes thingy. What I'm criticising here is that you are saying this mod makes the mimic chests easier to spot, but they aren't, because the base game already has an animation for it, and you just changed that animation.

It's still a nice mod and I will like it and leave it at that.

Often times if players aren't paying attention they could open up a chest and suddenly take damage and be a bit confused. Adding an animation makes it more likely that they'll spot the mimic beforehand

Kinda contradicting, don't you think, since its already as easy as it gets when you walk close to the chest.

Also mimic chests are already easy to spot since they have a darker colour. Your mod is basically pointless, because it just added a nice animation. I'm not criticising the animation but the idea behind it.

If you walk close to the mimic chest it already pops up spikes and what your mod does is just add a fancy animation to it. So yeah.

I felt like having a visual tell such as a different colour or the darker parts where the spikes come out of made the mimics too easily identifiable. Instead, we changed it so that if an iron chest is a mimic then your tears will collide with it. Still a simple enough way to tell if it's a mimic but can still punish you if you aren't careful and paying attention

Before attacking mimic should have different colours from normal chest
