This is my most favourite mod, because it makes the game so much easier. Thank you Lord Nequam. I really hoped that there was something compareable to this for CIV6, but unfortunately, there isn´t. :steamsad:

Go into the civilization's xml file and replace the weird colour decimal numbers with colours that you want.

@Skywrath46 - I think it will work with BNW as a player civ, but is missing a few AI references to function as an NPC civ to play against right now. I'll hopefully have time to upload a BNW version of the mod later today or tomorrow.

@lordnequam - just double cheked that byzantium theme by loading a game as byzantium and sir you are mistaken and dont have that theme playing on this great mod!! but i tell you what that would be perfect if it was the actual theme you had playing!!! so please PLEASE check it out sir and fix it PLEASE pretty pretty PRETTY with a CHERRY on top LOL!!!!!! im telling you 100,000% its not BYZANTIUMS theme you have playing!!!! but it NEADS to be THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@scottkbeers - Civ soundtracks are controlled by a <SoundtrackTag> line in the mod code and this one is currently set to Byzantium's. I'll see about listening to some of the other Civ soundtracks for a more appropriate one when I've got some spare time.

Thanks alot for the fix sir it worked! at the risk of sounding piky tho sir the music score dont realy fit the civ in my opinion,sounds to opera and not the byzantium theme def not!! sounds like its austria or germany you know that classic 1920s music sound! neads to be a more ancient civs music score so if you could please do what you said and make it byzantiums or another ancient civs music theme please...

@scottkbeers - Okay, I've tinkered with the file. It SHOULD work now. If it doesn't, all I can suggest is trying to start a new game to see if the music problem persists.

Im usen the gods and kings version this version sir, and i came home last night after work and saw the update tab and thought awsome how you maken this awsome mod beter? and i had a game going at the time but i was curious so i updated wantn to see what was new and rite when i loaded the game BAM!!! gods and kings music lol!!! @scottkbeers - That is worrisome, as my latest update didn't do anything to the music. It actually only fixed the map image used during the Civ select screen at the beginning of the game....Are you using this version of the mod or the Vanilla version? Because only the Vanilla version uses the Chinese music. The G&K version uses Byzantium's soundtrack.

And if the Artificers don't tickle your fancy, perhaps you can look into the Eugenicists and their bio-centric forces. The the entire non-naval unit tree has been modified to employ only biological units!

My thanks to everyone for your patience as I dealt with the mod's issues. I have gotten the music working (to the best of my knowledge; please let me know if it still does not work for you) and am now working on a vanilla version of The Ancients.

Also, please look forward to my two mods planned for some time in the near future: The Eugenecists, a super-civ focused on human units; and The Artificers, a super-civ focused on mechanical units.

Actually it started working right after I posted that comment. It was because I had more than one custom civilization enabled. Speaking of which, it would be cool if you made a scenario to go along with the civilization.

@CRACK - Thanks for the suggestion. I'm working on fixing things as I've now got some free time, but I'll definitely try consulting other modders if I can't figure out what's wrong.

@Broseph Stalin - The only suggestion I can give is to follow the instructions for removing and re-installing a mod to see if that works. I don't know of any solutions specific to the problem you mentioned.

@Owl Lord - While the mod's flavor borrows from stories about pre-modern super-civlizations featured in stories liek Stargate, Nadia and the Secret of Blue Water, Atlantean myths, etc., it is not based directly on any one setting.

Hi, I play with the Atreides Civ (Author - scotchandcake) there the music is working. Perhaps you can ask him how he did it.

ok thanks for your response and sorry for the f bombs but other than the gk theme music this mod is awsome man! and other than the music this over powered civ is wicked cool to play around with from time to time.i personaly have had no crashes everything but the crap music works great mr! love the mod but please fix the music sir when you can and happy studying and good luck with your education stuff!!! cheers...

I apologize for not commenting earlier, but I've been busy. In regards to the crashes, I don't know what the issue is; I haven't been able to replicate it. As for the background music, I play with the sound off and an audiobook playing, so I never noticed the issue.

Unfortunately, I'm busy IRL with finals and my thesis work, so the mod isn't a concern for me right now. It may seem simple (especially the music) but I'm no programmer and taught myself from some online documents to make this. I have since forgotten most of what I learned and--while I imagine I could re-learn it fairly easily--I just don't have to time to devote to doing that right now.

I will try to address both concerns this summer, when I have more free time and I create an updated version of the mod for "Brave New World." I'll try and push out a Vanilla version of the mod then, as well, since it has been requested quite enthusiastically. Until then, I again apologize for any problems you're experiencing.

@mwells2nd - I haven't really tested the mod for compatability issues; I've run full-length games with various mods active and haven't come across any major issues (that haven't since been fixed). If you'll tell me what other mods you're using, I'll try running a game like that and seeing if I can figure out what's wrong.

Quick question. I'm playing a game as the Ancients and it's not letting me create a pantheon. I have around 800 or so and the requirement for the pantheon is around 30? Any advice?

although this is my favorite mod, it seems to be the only one that doesn't load every time I start Civ. I'm getting really sick of having to abandon games because the save files fail every time I have to shut down for the night. I assume this is not a mod issue, but rather a Steam / Fireaxis issue... God, I hate Steam.
