I just finished an LWotC campaign with this mod and the surrender and larger war mods. It seems the casualty list gets bugged. The bleeding out soldiers are initially added there and on the wall of portraits. Some time after the casualty list is wiped, removing not only the ones who were captured but also those who died outright. This behaviour was consistent throughout the campaign and removed the dead from the list but left their portaits on the wall.


Two disastrous missions ended with large numbers of bleeding out units still on the map. The first time I surrendered and all the bleeding soldiers were indeed captured, popping up in various prisons in the region. The second time (vs Viper King) my survivors evacuated, carrying some bleeding out units, but all the bleeding out soldiers on the map seem to have died. Only the unconscious ones appeared in rescue missions.

To get this mod to work with the new launcher, you must go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\841080990 and press on the notepad, then write RequireXPACK=true

Can verify as of Jun 2024 that this mod has intermittent success in working, and may fail to execute it's override for some users; currently investigating why this has failed to work on some setups.

Mod's no longer working for me. Perhaps something to do with the new launcher, as it worked before and I didn't add any mods, but not sure.

No issues I've seen. Surrender is an ability, this affects the bleeding out mechanic.

@Masterman in my experiance yes. i've used it on War of the Chosen, as well as with BleedOutMod. i'm not sure if that's the same as Always bleed out or not but it sounds similar enough.

A lifesaver for Ironman games! Just had one of my best soldiers bleeding out thanks to a Hunter'sRifle shot and no one being able to pick her up though standing right next to the body. I hate loosing soldiers due to this bug, especially on Ironman so this is simply a must. Great job, Commander!

It was just a one time glitch in WOTC. And yes, I've been playing it in LW2 mostly.

My soldiers were captured in a mission and I appropriately received the rescue mission in WOTC - but instead it just had a white puffed up placeholder of a person instead of the soldier. I thought nothing of it until after I viewed soldiers in the armory. The Chosen acknowledged that I did the mission, but I never received my soldier back. Anyone else had this error?

Not sure, but all four soldiers were bleeding out by the end of the mission and they were all killed instead of captured. So maybe this doesnt work if no one is evaced. Im also playing with LW2, additional mission types, guerilla war, and a bunch of cosmetic mods.

@CheetahChops: You are able to...in the fucking vanilla game already...the capture-mechanic itself is NOT added by this mod. Only changes the bleeding out ones to be captured instead of dead.

I seen a lot of people are saying it works, I am not playing with this mod for my run and I only tested it in vanilla so I don't know. It might be the same bug as full override not adding mechanical to outpost as both are using the same triggers.

Because twice now my characters have been killed. They are listed in the memorial as killed and everything.

@CWyattMP: Yes, you can. And that's actually a functionality of the base-game. They'll be rescued the same way you get VIPs, afaik.

They show up dead in after action because all the different UI uses a different way to check if a soldier is dead or captured, it will not show up in the memorial if captured though.

is this actually compatible with LW2? Considering these soldiers would show up as dead on the post mission screen either way there is not real way of play testing this...

You mean in the VIP missions, yes they'll die because the mission end triggers on your turn start, which is the same phase bleed out timer ticks down and he dies. (Before the advent come capture your guys)

if the timer is at 1 and the turn ends, would that soldier bleed out anyway? I had to exfil the rest of my squad and someone was left behind with 1 turn left until bleeding out, it of course showed that he died in the after mission summary, and he shows up in the bar memorial

eh I examined his code and noticed his change can be done without any overwrites, I think I can cook up a high compatibility mod for that.

Hey bg this mod conflicts with BleedOutMod even when I let this mod have priority in the load order. Could make your mod have the https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=621423047 Bleedout Mod features? You could disable its effect by default in a config ini so no one would notice.

It's just a simple 0%+(1% / will>50) /w 4turns -> 25%+(.5% / will>0) /w 5turns or if you have Stay With Me 0%+(2% / will>50) /w 4turns -> 33.3%+(.67% / will>0) /w 6turns. It even says "Everyone is free to integrate my mods into their own so long as due credit is given."

Pleeeease?

there's a class that if it can be overriden, will be a lot more compatible with changed tactical end mission logic, but cannot be overriden with the usual xcomengine.ini, I think if we can implement a config for this in the community highlander it'd be easier.

Same. Not working with LW2. I decided to pull out without grabbing the bleeding out guy because his turn timer was too low to get the Evac. and he died anyway. :(

Can confirm, is NOT compatible with Long War 2. Just had 3 of my A-team bleeding out at the end of an trap mission, at 1, 3, 4 turn timers. They all died.

It would be kind of neat if there was a mission type that allowed soldiers captured in this way to be rescued. That's probably a very complex thing to do though.
