Dunno if thats helpful but just throwing it out there in case it helps.
Replacing all vanilla trees solves this, and there are a few mods make this pretty easy for you, like TPB's Vanilla Trees Remover or my own Prop it Up! . The only other alternative is either to put up with the flickering, or to unsubscribe from this mod...
Thanks for your efforts.
But there are certainly weird things going on: the fact that the old version apparently still works for some (or perhaps even lots of) players, but also that my updated version works for some but not everyone is pretty baffling. I can't really find an explanation for this, or even what may lie at the heart of the issue - this mod, another mod, the game's code, yet something else?
One thing I can think of that the error was caused by a code change in the actual DLC itself (do you own ND?), but that would strike me as odd because every DLC is accompanied by a game patch that every players gets, irregardless of whether they have the DLC. And typically it is this patch that contains the changes in the game's code, not the DLC.
@gravage - have you notice any wildly flickering vanilla trees when zooming out since you subscribed to this mod? Or have you replaced all vanilla trees already?
The reason I'm asking is because I'm curious whether the flickering tree issue affects everyone, or just a "lucky" few (I'm not actively looking for a fix, but any tidbit of new info could cause an unexpected brain-fart that does bring me closer to a fix).
In the mod description I wrote that I simply uploaded the mod as-is , which basically means that what you see is what you get (and support is only limited to game-breaking errors). I only made a few small changes to the code which did the trick for me (and quite a few others as well, apparently), but unfortunately I have no intention to give the code a thorough check-up, let alone completely rewrite it from scratch.
So for the time being I have no real intention to invest time in RTR, as some of my other mods have a higher priority. This may change over time, but for now it basically boils down to the mod either working for you (which is great), or not (for which I'm very sorry, but alas, that's the way the cookie crumbles...)
