My cities are full of your low rise assets! Really terrific. Please make more! :)

Are these growables?
d.blanxx 3 Apr, 2020 @ 1:03pm
Hello. these are beautiful. I agree with other people regarding the surrounding fence but I would really really LOVE if there were some lights on in night time. That would be AWESOME!
Scrappy Coco 31 Mar, 2020 @ 2:00pm
I don't like the wall surrounding the building...

Will this grow in a district with the "self sufficient buildings" specialization?
Eni 15 Dec, 2017 @ 11:01am
They're awesome! Love them in my city but could you please release a version without the fence? I'd really appreciate it mate :) All the best!

Yes.

Thanks a lot! I do miss medium density from SC4 and some Euro building styles.
susieo 26 Feb, 2017 @ 4:06am
Love it! Definitly need more of these, would LOVE if you made a more! I´ve been using Joak´s modern low-rises too, but in need of more variation.
Ho0pz4sho 29 Jan, 2017 @ 3:48pm
Awesome! Gonna sub and add a new district in my city with these. I've been using Joak's modern low-rise, but there's very little color variation there. Can't use too many.

Thanks!

I really love your models, though the textures stick out too much for my taste. It doesn't mix with other assets very well. But, again, those models are amazing.
Flo0220 20 Jan, 2017 @ 10:13am
more gimme more gimme more!!! these are simply awesome!:steamhappy:
Kliekie  [author] 20 Jan, 2017 @ 6:15am
Sounds like I need to make more of these :D Currently I'm working on an asset which has nothing to do with this set, but after this one I'll continue working on these as a set :)
Dahl 19 Jan, 2017 @ 6:38pm
I would love to see a collection! Cities Skylines is so annoying in that all high-density residential automatically develops into High rises, it's very difficult to get vanilla gradations of height like in actual cities without mods. It would be great to see more of these!
Muad'dib 19 Jan, 2017 @ 11:51am
Love it :steamhappy:
noobified 19 Jan, 2017 @ 8:48am

great ;)
KingLeno 17 Jan, 2017 @ 5:30am
hmm...a modern building without sharp corners? maybe that's a thing somewhere outside of America or something
AngryDragon 16 Jan, 2017 @ 4:44pm
Yes, I've done that. A very low value is all that's needed to remove the sharpness. It definitely isn't pretty if it's too high.
Kliekie  [author] 16 Jan, 2017 @ 4:37pm
You don't have to explain me how smoothing groups work :) Ever tried to put 1 cube in a single smoothing group? That's basically what you are suggesting and let me tell you it won't be pretty. But hey, maybe it's just a difference in taste. I would like to make my models how I think they look best, but thank you for your opinion.
AngryDragon 16 Jan, 2017 @ 3:36pm
A good example of how smoothing groups are used by games is cylinders. You can make an 8 face octagon look round using smoothing groups. It's in fact a method that allows you to add details with a very low cost. When used properly, it can allow you to get the result you want with fewer polygons.
AngryDragon 16 Jan, 2017 @ 3:29pm
I would add that you definitely should define smoothing groups. That kind of information is bundled with your model anyways, even if you don't define it yourself, the difference being that the smoothing would be defined by the default algorithm present within your modeling tool. In some cases, depending on how you built your model, that can cause some rather ugly shadows to show up in unexpected locations.
AngryDragon 16 Jan, 2017 @ 3:24pm
Smoothing doesn't add triangles. It's something that's done through your modeling tool. What it does is that it tells the game engine how the model should be shaded. It's basic type of stuff that has been present in games for the last 2 decades. I would expect that it's supported by City Skyline.
Kliekie  [author] 16 Jan, 2017 @ 11:22am
@SilverWind Sure if you don't mind having a growable 10k tris house which will eat away your memory ;)
AngryDragon 16 Jan, 2017 @ 11:08am
Do your corners have any kind of smoothing? I mean, no corner looks anywhere near that sharp in reality. My neighbour has stucco on it's foundation and the edges are more rounded than square. It just looks odd right now and would look much better if the edges weren't that sharp.

Beautiful moderrn architecture. We definitely need a lot more lowrise condos/apartments with great modern style.

Inpsiring as always. Welcome back.
Elias 15 Jan, 2017 @ 11:53am
personally i think it's too small for a lvl5 building, so it will probably disappear between the 200m-skyscrapers that we all are subscribed to a lot, although it would be more realistic to have a few smaller buildings in between the big ones. so if you are willing to create a lot of low-rise lvl5 buildings, this might change, but you'd have to create a whole bunch for every kind of footprint.

maybe you could concentrate on the smaller footprints like 1x1 and 2x2/3x2? especially the vanilla 3x2 is ugly as hell and appears a lot. it's basically the same building as the commercial tourist hotel with that footprint.

but apart from that, this building looks great as always... of course!

and btw: thanx to you, my wife is driving a citroen cactus now. your asset literally marks the first time i ever saw this car and i fell in love ;)
Hirolin 15 Jan, 2017 @ 11:23am
