These don't do anything on their own, the game's physics engine is what make these work. so probably yes

This mod works again for 5.0+.
As a bonus I added a different version of the gear strip. It might or might not work better than the current one but I will do some more refining of it later to make it work good

I am still not able to craft the research on my server. It only required 30 metal ingots, and it will not allow me to research the gears. I thought I would let you know.

It has its own research definition, but it overwrites the AdvancedMechanics to unlock the research scroll. I could remove that if you want

Any way you could update the research requirement so it doesn't change the default? Right now it makes several things not require research anymore. See: https://forum.keenswh.com/threads/solved-research-in-mods-clobbering-etc.7394820/

You can always make some changes to the mod if you copy it to a local mod, in the blueprints file you find both the crafting time and cost

Hello Peaceman,

Sorry for the misunderstand; I was not complaining just asking because I have a single survival series I do 3 times a week and I hadn't noticed the resource requirements as I test mods on my creative saves before intergrating them into my world. Unfortunately, after taking a second look it would take too much time for the builds I had in mind.

You complain about crafting times of 10-15 seconds (small ones are only a few seconds) but not about the iron cost? It takes 10x longer to get the iron than it takes to craft them. I think the crafting times are right for the material cost.

Would it be possible to decrease the craft time? I would love to use these but it takes a very long time to craft just one gear.

They look really nice, but do they are stable ? No shaking and missed collision ?
