A lot of the features seem to have made it into the base game, so it might make more sense to build upon that implementation instead of trying update this mod.

To put this another way, your mod was good enough that it got incorporated into Stellaris, congratulations!

@Kazma if you go into your files you can manually change the version number
--this is the pathway for me----you will need the remote file id of the mod if you dont want to trudge through all the others--

Is there any way around the 2.0 version issue with the game being 2.1.3 and this mod being 2.0. I see people posting comments recently so am I missing something to make this work

If you look updating for 2.1 compatibility, I just want to make sure you know about a breaking scripting change in 2.1 the developers didn't do a good job letting modders about.

Your scripts (if you have any) may be doing the wrong thing silently if you need to update them and don't.
