Also, it seems to be preventing the geode clusters in the geode biome from humming when you walk past them?

This mod seems to break various types of explosive objects. Like the metal kegs of explosives or toxic waste, or the bombs that get set off when you cross a laser barrier on a scorched world.

They no longer explode, just vanishing without any damage (to players, mobs, or terrain) and the bomb traps just don't activate at all.

As of the 1.4 patch it seems like this mod causes npcs to die on spawn. Its a shame, and perfectly okay for solo survivalist playthroughs, but for me it's really disappointing because I love this mod paired with the heart drops reskin :c

There seems to be a conflict with Job Offers. Stat Orbs seems change the NPCs, then JO can't recruit. JO works if you disable SO. So thats a work around. The logs are sparce. pastebin > rqvme4yR

Wonderful mod! Finally makes keeping health items in boss fights as a secondary and last resort item.

I do notice that sometimes orbs do not activate healing/energy regen even when I pick them up, most of the time it's the second pickup afterwards that activates but I don't know if its a glitch or something so I thought I'd say something about it.

EDIT: Nevermind, realized it was cause the actual range of the healing cloud is quite small compared to the pickup range, so false alarm on that being a glitch.

Got a problem. After the last update, it started giving JSON Execution errors, thinking it might be related with Mech 'Healing Pickup' that's added recently.

@warmainiac they interact weird with critters despawning. the issue is on my radar but I havent found a fix. for now imagine they are just gifts from sky daddy.

i keep coming across random stat orbs falling from the sky on lush planets "FAR FAR AWAY" (quote from a movie) from ANY npc why is that, i am thinking it may be a frackin universe monster that is causing that because i've come across a non capturable monster in an astroid biome that is not in the wiki WITH NO NPC FIGHTING WITH IT attacking and destroying nearby scandroids could that mob be in the lush planets in the astroid or lower altitude because i've seen random stat orbs at high speed fall down from the sky.

It's belatedly occurred to me that I wasn't entirely clear before, so...

I know mobs can drop meat right now. And you can eat that meat. Not a good idea, but you can. You actually want to cook it first.

But that's not what I was actually asking for; I was asking for a orb that immediately restores some hunger. Thing of them as Bioshock food, if you like.

A sudden idea that struck me... how about monsters dropping edible stuff? Orbs that refill your hunger meter a bit.

Not sure why but after picking up a green orb any mobs near me become invincible. Can't hit them but they can hit back.

@bk3000 these are good ideas! i have plans to release buff-orbs as a submod rather than tack it onto this one, so if youd like to release your own submod please do! if you do not then ill gladly take the idea. i got your number :)

One other idea here. With this mod, you could increase the player's maximums for health, energy, or any "stat" a bit(nothing terribly unbalanced) but it reverts upon death. I do have an idea how to do that if you're interested.

I favor such things. I'll have to try it out later.

I especially favor removing pixels and replace with this. That way it works as an economic reform mod. Earn your money through actually selling stuff(found loot. crafted goods. farmed crops) and being a landlord(paired with a mod that makes rent pixels only).

Also... maybe this doesn't fit right with this mod(could be another), but many platformers have items found that make for temporary powerups(until you get hit). Sonic's shields, Mario's growth and fireballs, etc. Sonic 3 style shields would be more worthwhile given we have guns. Probably you'd have use on pickup items(I'd guess you're doing that here) that add a status. I'd thought about doing that myself, but just another thing on my large stack of uninitiated mod ideas.

I think the generic bloopy pick-up-item sound would work better than the shattering sound, but it doesn't really give the impression that you specifically grabbed a regen orb.

@Emissary Of Infinity please do! the mod is written in such a way that new options can easily be patched in with but a single patch file. If you want it to be standalone and you need help with anything let me know and i'll render any assitance i can.
I do already have plans for a random buff-orb, was thinking something like 30sec durations on them. Even if your idea is similar you are 100% free to develop your own version.

Been playing around with this, I really like it. Only suggestion: maybe a different sound effect for picking them up? Right now it's like a glass breaking sound, I think something softer would work better

They seem to be a pretty decent size at the moment, if you ask me. They're big enough to be highly visible, yet not so huge that they seem distracting or disproportionate.
Great job on this, OP. I may not be using it myself just yet, but I know exactly what I could use this as a jumping-off point to learn how to make, if you wouldn't mind me doing so.

This is really cool, so great job! It'd be interesting to see more stuff like this in game. Any chance you can shrink them a bit? They seem pretty big... Or do they scale with how much they heal that way? Like big ones heal more sort of thing.
