@Eaarame, well, I think this is your personal bug, because I didn't have such problems. Instead, I have a problem with how much energy the shields consume. Any shield in this mod will only fully charge by draining almost my entire battery (my battery has a capacity of 225), leaving me with 5-10 energy, although it SHOULD consume up to 80/125/100 energy to fully charge

Mod does not work. Bug often causes energy to never recharge so you can only use melee weapons and even if you remove augment it will stay that way unless you use admin mode to reset it.

still works! I love playing with the instakill gun mod and no armor. This lets you survive a hit.

I have the same issue. One year ago shield worked fine.
I came back to the game recently. The only thing that changed is that addons got updated in the past year, and now I can't add shields to my equipment.

I haven't played Starbound in a year or so, then updated my mods and installed a few new ones and now I am unable to add shields onto my equipment.
Anyone figured out which mods could cause the issue of breaking this one?

@Chet It drains your battery upon spawning (or teleporting in) to build up a shield buffer. Once this buffer is full, the shield disappears. Once you take damage, instead of dealing it to your health, it deals it to the shield. After a few seconds, it recharges that buffer again using a bit of energy. Iirc, it doesn't heal you if you take damage after the shield breaks.
Only really need the augment on one piece, from what I've observed.

I find this mod useful as heck, since I find health management really annoying. (Been a while since I played, but this was pretty much a mandatory item for me)

I'm not quite sure what this augment really does. I have added it on my head, chest piece and leg armor. I see some bubble grow and disappear, and all I know is it that it eats up all my battery. What does it really do exactly? Don't quite understand from explanation. Thank you.

How are the shields actually meant to work? I've finally crafted one and put it on, but it just turns on randomly, drains all my energy, and turns off again? (Tier 1, I have ~120 energy)

I'd just like to inform you that the Nanite Autoinjector from The Forge: Healer's Toolkit will brake all of your shields, however it still heals the player.

The bonus shield you can gain actually has a maximum of 100% of base maximum shield. I looked into the source code, and turns out math.floor(two arguments) actually functions more like math.min(multiple arguments).

Minor thing, but my shield seems to still take damage when I parry an attack
I don't know if blocking with a normal shield still does this, but I'm not sure if that should be happening

Does defence value affect the amount of damage apply to the shield? For example, a 100 fire dmg hit on a character with 80 defence, 50% fire resist and a 100 shield augment, how many shield is left?

@Shakuta as stated in the armor augments mod, as long as they are different teirs they should stack. So doing a wall sheild, one of the fast charging sheilds, and a normal sheild should work, I can't be sure though. But doing a bunch of same tier wall sheilds are fast rechargers or whatever won't work. Though, I hope you plan on using melee with this sort of idea, as I don't think you'll have any energy left without at most 3 sheilds all draining it

Good question. I am able to use augments in my armor aswell in my epp. This would make a total of 4 slots. Can I use all 4 shield augments at the same time and they stack?

Efficiency is the amount of energy is taken per recharge tick. The higer the efficiency, the less it will take.

I tested this with Frackin universe's augment extractor and it seems to work fine.

Were you perhaps using Combinable Augments at the same time?
If so, there's nothing I can do to fix that.

Not sure what you're asking, but assuming it's the spawnitem IDs, they're just shieldaugment1 shieldaugment2 shieldaugment3

Unfortunately the Augment 'breaks' when extracting it - at least with the FU Augment extractor thingy :/

Definitely not clientsided. If it were, it would have to affect things only on your end, and not have anything that the server would have to load on its end (such as the status effects involved) or have to process the fact that you have an entirely new item.

@Glyde [Seizure] The sheild protects you from all forms of damage untill it breaks. There is no way to stop it draining power untill it is finished repairing ... I might try and change that, make it more combat friendly

I suppose you could cannonically say that the massive discharge of energy breaking the shield/the fact that your body was disassembled completely/the shield interfering with the teleportation process somehow and having to be shut down, would be a few reasons. XD

@Jack_0_Spades Yea it is an unfortunate issue when you teleport you lose the shields charge. I'll be looking into it at some point soon.

The shield will turn on even when I am not taking damage and it stays on until my energy is completely drained. This occurs 100% of the time when I teleport.
