While not realistic, as a feature of the gun and a gameplay component it was actually quite innovative and well thought out, unlike the NV4 and other comparable weapons from Infinite Warfare. Variable fire rate had been done before with the AN-94 in Battlefield titles but the first outing of it in the Call of Duty franchise was in Black Ops deuce so y'know, go easy on 3Arc. The guys know their stuff.
