you just wont have silent takedown if you dont use the stealth overhaul.

I'm gonna third the call for a WotC version. I'd use your combat knives themselves, but I find the Stealth Overhaul a bit too complex for the way I want to play, but I love that they are positioned on the thigh - please could you do a port for wotc @musashi?

Could you make a version for WOTC? Before you laugh somebody made a mod that adds the secondaries to WOTC: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1140434643&searchtext=Secondary+weapons . I cannot stand the knife being mounted on their back. I mean at least call it a machete

This doesn't seem to be working properly. The knife is on the hips, sure, but when I actually USE it, the gunner grabs at his shoulder, pulls out a handful of empty air, and stabs the enemy with it. Looks ridiculous. And no, I'm not talking about counterattacks - perfectly ordinary attempts to stab dudes.

"started healing by knife" gave me an idea for a class that has a combat knife and shotgun with one of their trees being a healing tree where they stab allies to heal them :D

This mod don't messes with gunners or overwatch. It just replaces the knife asset that gunner can use.

I unsubscribed, I shall keep you informed. I have 60 mods installed, and it was stable until now. So I went with removing one by one the last mods. Could be something relating with Gunners during overwatch shooting if that helps.

I have a feeling that this mod crashes the game. It often happens when my gunner gets to shoot, overwatch or move.

Nice update, it does look better with the knife on the hip but is there a way to make it closer from the body ? I'd guess no cause you are using medikit etc socket right ?

Update: moved knives on the hip socket so they don't collide with pistols.
You can now equip both knife and pistol in LW2.

Ah i see, shinobi ... has nothing to do with this mod. It only replaces the gunner knife. It's a problem with the combat knife mod which uses the same socket like pistols. I see if i can fix that.

I would hope that would be the case unless it's just something that occurs in the case of anyone having a knife and a pistol - most notably on Shinobis. The first time I encountered this was a Gunner who used Lightning Hands but used the knife instead of the pistol. After uninstalling the mod and loading an AVENGER save (especially using unbind mod), I recently got a Rendezvous mission with a Shinobi Haven Advisor who happens to have a knife. A Trooper activated her return fire ability but again, she used the knife instead of the pistol.

Uninstalling should fix the problem. You will need to load a avenger save or wait for the next tactical till the change take affect I think.

Alright... I'm having an issue since I started using this mod. Basically when an operative that has a spec-ops/combat knife and a pistol equipped and uses the pistol, the operative has the knife in their hand instead and shoots with it... It's... weird. I had uninstalled this mod due to this but it seems to persist. Any idea how to fix this?

Grimy's and LW2 get along somewhat. LW2 changes loot drops so things aren't entirely balanced at the moment.

You can by setting LW2_KNIFE_CATEGORY = combatknife in XComCombatKnifeMod.ini, but it won't play nice with Grimy Loot Mod.

Personally I don't like the overhead animation at all so I probably won't make a version for it.
Tweaking animations can take a lot of time, which would rather invest for mods/features I would use myself.

It's obvious that he likes the look of the mod, but would like to keep the original animations.

You all forget that the holster hast du play nice with the animation. You can't change that at runtime like a dirty underpants :P

You know... if you were feeling up to it, it would be pretty cool to have a location toggle so that a soldier could get the new graphic, but keep the shoulder-holster so that it won't clip with his sidearm.

This is dope, and the knife pretty much occupies the close range function that a pistol would.
