Indeed the quality & vatiation of colouring and artistic detail is ****ing top-notch.
@Razor Thank you, i know exactly what you're talking about, and whilst i agree, i can't go back. You see, this was somewhat of an experiment, the only way i could achieve this much color variation/shading is through the use of stickers, and only stickers. Normally you'd use patterns and pattern gradients, and those are limited in terms of color variation.
Stickers take up a lot of space (megabytes) and sadly, cover the entire gun. If i were to redo it, i would have to spend a lot more time fine-tunning every little piece of detail, and, again, i would have to use stickers. Which wouldn't help cut down the filesize (and filesize is one of the key factors, given that this is a 32-bit game and it has its limitations). In theory it's doable, but the amount of time i would have to spend is beyond the effort.
With that said, i may try it in the future. I already spend a decent amount of time on polish.
I would definately vote for this if more of those details was visible, re-enabled or allowed back on the weapon - then its leathal power would certainly be matched by its killer artwork.
