Reading through it im not positive you played through all the waves in the level,

The only crystle that has one way to get to it is the top one... the others each have a back / side acces witch is used by a portal that spawns in later waves.

The book cases are only 1 high due to the fact that i thoguht putting them 2 tall would look rather silly with the mesh that was available.

In reguards to breaking up the walls with supports / beams. I do agree with you there but i couldnt find any existing static mesh's in the editor, and i dont have any experience with 3ds max or any equivilants at this time to make my own.

Some other basic stuff to try is to make sure all your graphics card drivers are up to date.

have steam check your game files. Right click DD in your game library, Click Properties. Select the Local Files tab. Then click the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" button. That will most likely fix your issue.

This crashed my game and now i cant play any more every time i open DD it works until it finishes downloading the map then crashes

I understand about the missing texture, has that problem with some of the caldelabras.... been looking for a good replacement, but i really liked the look of the shields =(. Been also trying to find a good thing to break up the corners but i think it would look rather odd to have a giant pillar there o_0.

The waves completed fine. There was a fair bit of slowdown since it gets very crazy in the final waves. The level looks pretty nice overall. However, you may still want to consider breaking up sharp bsp corners with a large static mesh of some kind. Also, I wish the bookshelves were scaled much larger than my character, but that would ruin their gameplay purpose.

I didn't feel like the teleporting system from the bottom to top floor was conveyed very well. The only reason I thought to use it as such was because you mentioned it to me in a previous comment. Especially when compared to the portals that appear throughout the waves. Speaking of which, it is a really nice touch to a standard defense mode map to have new enemy spawn points appear to switch up the gameplay.

=(, yeah i noticed it got stale with just mobs coming through the doors alone, so i added the portals... while it can be solo'd but i would defiantly recommend having a friend with ya.

It plays pretty decently. The biggest factor for me to enjoy a hoard mode map is can they make me do stuff or can I just sit still and let my towers rain death for x amount of waves. This made me move for a bit and that was pretty fun. It is kind of hard to get around though between all of the cores, which does add to the suspense, but it mostly annoyed me at the time. I fell of the clear path a ton of times, which was what annoyed me the most in particular. Overall though I would say it's pretty cool. Although it couldn't keep my attention playing it on my own so I never finished all of the waves. :(

First off, I apreciate the feedback.

I do have a few books scattered about on the floors, and a few book piles here and there, but there isnt much to choose from in the editor. Some of the crystals in the air are animated however i dont think that i will make any of them travel paths as there have already been fps issues with waves 10 and 11. I will look into breaking up the look of the bsp surfaces.

An interesting and surprisingly unique look overall. A pretty good mix of color and objects despite using so many bookshelves it doesn't seem too repetitive. The crystals scattered in the air are awesome and the ghost-like clear paths look pretty cool as well. Do the crystals move around in the air? If not you could do some simple matine work to make them spin and what not. THAT WOULD BE THE S***! *Although, it is complete goldplating and stuff like that shouldn't be messed with if you've got more important stuff to do*

You may want to consider adding some kind of pillar in the corners to break up how the bsp connects on the walls. Perhaps you could also scatter some books across the floor. This looks like a pretty big level and I have no idea how it runs so I'm sure doing anything I suggested would only add to FPS problems because of it loading more stuff. Good luck in the contest and feel free to ignore anything I've said obviously it's just an opinion! ;)

:O such a cool map het quick idea you made this map and its awesome and i have a funny idea but i have 0 idea how to work the editor maby you can make this map for me?
i was tinken about somtan and how we have a portal gun as a weopon and how we have a comanion cube pet why not make a map that has white skined robotic enimies in a big area
and make like a bunch of portal stuff and call it apeture labs? i mean come on its a gold mine no one has made it yet and hey if you do not like it i do not care a bit because its up to you do not mind at all thx and if you do make it i take 0 credit i just want to play it

below should be fixed and is uploading now. If there are any problems let me know... did a test run... most works well... tweeked spawn times of mobs to try and ease the flow a bit and atempt to lessen lag.

K, got everything working as far as the editor. Added Shakmen, and Djin for NM Difficulty. Re-aranged some of the crystals and lowered the spawn rate of some of the DEMages. Added Goblins from the side doors on the mid level. Should be available on steam here in 5 min or so
