oops sorry i only read the description half the time. i really should do it all the time

@jandlml Read the description, it's supposed to be a tutorial for digital logic rather than a puzzle :)

i dont even know what i did . i just started putting cubes on buttons and standing on others and the door opened

@EccleStone No problem :) I'm happy that people are still checking these out and learning from them.
EccleStone 25 Feb, 2013 @ 7:24am
Thanks again for your detailed descriptions and examples of its mechanisms !

What do you mean by that? Did I forget to open the exit, or is it automatically open? In the case of the latter, I'll just let you knnow that this is purely a demonstration meant for education on matters pertaining to mechanisms in the title, and not a puzzle meant to be solved.

u forgot 2 put the connections 2 the exit

@paginatus I'll check those out once I get a chance :)

UPDATE: Revamped the priority switches
N-Sunderland  [author] 25 Aug, 2012 @ 8:32am
UPDATE: I've added a detailed description. Check it out if you're struggling to understand any of the mechanisms.

@cyron43: You've given me a bit of inspiration, actually :) I've begun working on a chamber in which one room has a puzzle sort of like that. The map will be quite similar to Geneosis's "Déjà Vu". If nothing goes wrong and I do publish it, it will be my first ever chamber that isn't a mechanism or a mini-game (I have one mini-game, "The Slot Machine").

That's why I love the Peti so much. No matter how long we spend creating maps, there's always a huge amount left to be discovered :)
Čolibri 24 Aug, 2012 @ 11:22am
Bravo for the new kind of logic circuit. This part of science is not already closed!
N-Sunderland  [author] 24 Aug, 2012 @ 10:30am
Thanks :) I was working a while ago on a map meant purely to confuse the player, so maybe I should restart work on that and throw some priority switches in. It's also good when you want to force the player to make a choice, you can replace the button with a permanent pedestal button so that they can't turn back.
cyron43 24 Aug, 2012 @ 3:13am
Priority switches FTW. I guess they could make up for some great puzzles where the player gets confused until he finds out the logic behind it at last. One time that damn switch works, one time it don't. Put both in different rooms without ant lines. :-D
N-Sunderland  [author] 23 Aug, 2012 @ 1:37pm
Thanks :) I forget how I came up with them... I think I was just bored one day, and suddenly it came to me. That's how I come up with most of my ideas :)
Geneosis 23 Aug, 2012 @ 1:22pm
Liked all those new HOLD gates a lot ^^
N-Sunderland  [author] 23 Aug, 2012 @ 1:06pm
@cyron43: Once you're done dealing with both your problems and this map, I've got a new pulse generator in my workshop, and I'd like to see if you can figure out how it works :)
N-Sunderland  [author] 23 Aug, 2012 @ 12:32pm
UPDATE: I've simplified the second priority switch. The buttons now connect directly to the first set of angled panels, instead of having relays do it. It nows looks better, is a bit more efficient, and is a good deal easier to understand.
N-Sunderland  [author] 23 Aug, 2012 @ 7:32am
That's fine. I wasn't trying to rush you into it or anything. I understand that your personal things take precedence over this. After all, it's only a video game :)
cyron43 23 Aug, 2012 @ 7:19am
Hi Nick,
I will check in later. Have some RL problems to solve first.
N-Sunderland  [author] 23 Aug, 2012 @ 7:09am
MAJOR UPDATE: I've finally updated this into a full-scale tutorial. You can now check out my new invention: priority switches...
N-Sunderland  [author] 18 Aug, 2012 @ 7:04am
Thanks :) The new mechanism that I'm going to present isn't going to be anything huge, but it could be quite useful. I'm about 90% sure it hasn't been done before (I've checked over all of the mechanism collections).
Čolibri 18 Aug, 2012 @ 5:46am
Well done, very economical!
Waiting for the revelation...
N-Sunderland  [author] 17 Aug, 2012 @ 5:52pm
NOTICE: I will soon be upgrading this into a full demonstration map containing this mechanism, plus SR latches, and an invention of mine that I have yet to reveal...
N-Sunderland  [author] 5 Aug, 2012 @ 10:18am
Thank you :)
Geneosis 4 Aug, 2012 @ 1:50pm
Oh, nice improvement of the NOR-HOLD gate shane716 created ^^

Ok for a conecpt and a start of something "serious" :)

Nice!! I always knew there is a better way. The angled panel in my version always makes me feel I could do it more simply.. Good job!!
