Yes, if you want to use it in multiplayer all the players+ server need it, because it adds new units.

The editor linking method doesnt work with a procgen scripted CTI mission (which starts with 0 enemies placed), but I just heard that there's a mod (or tool?) called ALICE that you can feed a faction into and it'll produce a copied version on a new side for you, about to check that out.

I have not played CTI, but currently the Gendarme are BLUFOR, like the original. If you wanted to change their side in Editor you can just drop down an INDEP guy and link the Gendarme to him, with the INDEP man as the squad leader- that will change their alliance to INDEP.

I do know that some scripts exist to change side/alliance of units to something that is not their default, so perhaps look around to experiment with one of those, but I'm not sure how it would handle a dynamic spawning method like I assume CTI uses.

i love this mod. I'm trying to mod this into a CTI mod to use this faction as a neutral faction that can be swayed between opfor & blufor depending on player actions to represent corrupted police who'll work for Syndikat drug cartels if they have the chance. Am I correct in assuming I can't just plug B_BLUFORGEN troops into the "units to use" part of the config? That I have to dig into the files of this mod itself in order to manually change which side the enhanced gendarm are on to IND in the coding of every unit in the pack? It's a two-file mod which should be easy but I'm worried if I just REPLACE ALL every mention of blufor to ind that I'm gonna wind up messing up a call-asset function and break it :/

Wish there were different skins for vehicles so you could easily tell them apart from NATO vehicles.

I have a request that's kinda out there, do you think it would be possible to make a Saddam Hussein era Iraqi faction? There was a good mod for this in Arma 2 but it never really got interest in arma 3.

Just thought replacing CSAT with the PLA would be better in the end. Considering that it seems like most people don't even like CSAT to begin with.

CSAT is currently known in be mostly China, Iran, with limited support from other ME nations and a trading agreement with Russia (but Russia itself is neutral), which in turn resulted in Russian equipment being donated to the CSAT forces.

There already is a nice Iranian Army for CSAT mod around- I was going to be doing PLA as the replacement because they have a similar style of gear, but it would retain the non-conventional appearance of the CSAT forces when compared to NATO's M4's and Multicam- the QBZ-95's are interesting looking guns that are still contemporary to the modern setting of my other factions, unlike the upchambered KH2002 and Israeli weapons combo of default CSAT (not to mention the famous bug helmets)

Ok but it doesn't change the fact that CSAT isn't just China. And why would they be called CSAT if it's just the PLA?

@kcin Honestly, I prefer if CSAT was just the PLA. I like the Altis camos for CSAT but I don't want to waste time chaing the faces and guns.

Again, great job at reworking a vanilla faction. I assume you'll try CTRG next. I've already tried making custom CTRG units for some missions I'm making.
