I assume that this mod is dead, but does anyone happen to know which resource pack I should open if I want to modify the forge costs of the arcane items forge?

If you really want a challenge, simply make some crazy items place them in a heroes bag not equipped, go near a enemy city drop the items, the computer will simply redistribute them and eventually you will see them on enemy heroes. So even if anyone complains that items a player can make with mods like this are to powerful or it's bad because the computer cant make them. I say do that problem solved. Good mod I always thought the original item forge was lacking.

If you want to mod in cheats, you certainly don't need my help. Simply drop the forge cost of everything to zero, save your mod, play the game. This is for people want a semi fair way to make powerful items, knowing that the AI will not be able to follow suit.

The second issue is even more troubling. You can easilly abuse any kind of "negative forge point" properties if you don't want the drawbacks (weaknesses in my case, cost in yours). First, add all the drawbacks to the item. Second, pack it full with as many useful properties as you can. Third, remove the drawbacks from the item. The game will allow you to craft the item even if it says you have a negative amount of forge points left (eg. -15/5).

I've actually tried to make a mod like this. I wanted to increase forge points by introducing damage weakness drawbacks to the property list. I never published it though because during testing I've found that it's easy to abuse.

First, I initially wanted to have the drawbacks slightly decrease the item's value. But, unfortunately, the game allowed crafting items with only drawbacks, which resulted in negative production costs. This way, you could craft one item every turn and gain massive amounts of resources in the process. So I decided to drop the value decrease aspect. Good thing you don't have to worry about this.

It's worth pointing out - the mana cap will limit powerful items, and production costs can easily range between 10-20 turns for very powerful items.
