The only things left that use organic rocks with this mod active, is the coal enricher and infuser. Otherwise it works great

thx for the mod

Wish something like this could be implemented...organic rocks are fine and all, and maybe good for more niche constructions, but for the basic smelter that you wouldn't want to build a ton of anyways? Why.

:< pls add?

No. Only for the listed items.

Also 1 question... Why in the world would a smelter need rocks?

Really handy mod, as much as I like wandering/digging aimlessly about to find a tiny bit of this stuff......that gets very boring

in general FC gets too grindy. And it takes forever (for non pros) til you get a normal smelter. So a good change. Sure if you know what you do its no bother. But for newer players its a good thing. But i made my own private mod (eddited xml for degrinding) not changing ingredients but numbers.

@ Demerzel, I actually have to say, those changes are perfect for a starting player/starting in general.

"I am not a fan of the organic rock requirement on the basic smelter because its an obstacle for new players to get a taste of a functional base. "

Agree. Also there is a really high chance that the current basic smelter system will be changed: http://i.imgur.com/JzgTEes.png

@ Bobby, I don't think its overpowered at all, it would be dumb to continously use these in game due to the higher ore consumption. As Demerzel mentioned, once you get the care package, this becomes irrevalent.

I am not a fan of the organic rock requirement on the basic smelter because its an obstacle for new players to get a taste of a functional base.

In reality the basic smelter could be tossed out of the game, smelting is just a small piece of the giant puzzle/factory you build.

In factorio you can literary build a stone smelter after clicking 5 times on a rock patch. And it's fine.

This is purely time saving.

There is no such thing as overpowered in a single player game.
If I want 6 basic smelters I will go and find all the organic rocks for it that's it.

I'm not enjoying the exploration for organic rocks because it's random. If you are lucky you will find 10 on top of each other within minutes. If you are unlucky you will only find 2 or 5 within an hour.

If you have care package unlocked (which I have btw) you can get a LOT within the first half an hour since one camobot drop 2-3 at a time and nothing can hold you back to go down to the cold cavern and shoot camobots.

@dustbust this is a overpowered change for the basic smelter you can build tons and have the level of when you have normal smelters for 24 hours

Wish this was a vanilla change lol
