thanks for your kind words,
it was put on hiatus cuz I began focusing more on my studies.
However I'd like to revisit this project some day after I graduate.

I loved this map! I liked the little easter egg you put in, I had lots of flashbacks to another game that brings me many happy memories. As I see The Unknown Floor was never published, I assume it was cancelled, that's sad, I really liked the concept.

From a visual perspective, a few things were wonky. Such as the lighting in the vent shaft with the halogen tube, or those black cubes that looked static-y. From a level perspective, I didn't like it. It seemed like it was too hard to find out how to proceed. It eventually felt like an intense I-Spy puzzle. I wasn't able to get past the room with the ladder, since I didn't know how. I could just be really dumb, but if someone isn't able to figure out what to do in a hammer map without a portal gun, you need to make some changes. Otherwise, the story was kinda new and interesting, and the atmosphere was dark and even creepy at times. It could use some work, but not too bad.

Hello! This was a cool map, I enjoyed it. Though it is obvious that you do not have much experience in the Hammer Editor. Which is why I would recommend these guides:

These guides helped me a ton so id imgaine they'd help you too. Please read them! And good luck in your future mapping endeavours.

It's a Portal 2 Mod, I still don't know if I make a Workshop release too.

But I'm currently working on a design concept with a new Gameplay feature, so you can look forward to that. ;3

Nice map, well made and sufficiently lit. Nice spooky ambience, great visuals. Couldn't find that Easter Egg. Thanks for your efforts.

To fix the buildcubemaps error you must change the compiled maps directory in hammer. Go to tools>options>build programs and change the "place compiled maps in this directory" box to $SteamUserDir\Portal 2\portal2_dlc2\maps then recompile the map.

I've seen your Video and noticed that you have some broken reflections.
I don't know why some people have this problem. Some of my friends tested the map and the reflections looked fine to them (including me)...

Could you please tell me where the missing textures are?
(I had a few problems with them while making the map)

Also: There are a few env_cubemap entitys in the map. But the game crashed when I tried to activate them with the "buildcubemaps" command in the console.

SirtankaDev go into hammer and make an entity called env_cubemap this will fix the cubemap issue.

I know. I tried to fix the reflections with cubemaps, but the game allways crashed when I tried to execute the 'buildcubemaps' command.:steamsalty:
I'll try to do a better Job in my next Map. :p2aperture:

The elevator door at the beginning is a 'func_door' entity brush with a door texture.
The other 2 doors in the lobby are 'prop_dynamic_override' entities with the 'vert_door_animated.mdl' model. + SetAnimation Triggers.
