Not super elegant with some connections (and "can only be used to trap yourself", REALLY?! what a crude way to intercept an exploit), but a nice map for a quick casual runthrough. BTS segment looks insane.

nice map!

Thanks for the puzzle. For me it was medium difficulty. Great!

Fun game. Nce work.

To get the cube from the area that turns off the light bridge I just made a portal onto the portalable surface facing the water and leaned around and threw the cube through. Then I did a ninja hook jump around and got myself through as well.

When I first opened the test, it was a dual portal gun, I had to restart the level in order to fix it.
Pretty good test, clean aesthetics not that great, but the BTS segment was awesome.

It's possible to just sacrifice and then take the cube from the first chamber into the second chamber , thereby bypassing the puzzles of the second chamber. Maybe add a fizzler after the exit of the first chamber?

I found an exploit that is not mentioned in any of the comments. I placed the cube right up against the laser and as closer to the water as possible while still blocking the laser. Then I crossed the bridge, shot a portal into the wall facing the water and right next to the laser. Then I was able to lean through that portal, reach around the corner and grab the cube (though I fell into the water a couple times before I got it right.) If this trick is in fact the intended solution, I am surprised there have been no comments about that.

Well done! A good brain teasing puzzle. Thanks!

Well made map and great puzzle. The single blue portal keeps me thinking (hehe). Thumbs up. The 2 light bridges is a good move. Thanks..
TS_Mind_Swept 24 Jul, 2014 @ 11:52am
This one was easier than i was looking at it to be, I think i was just overthinking it cause when i figured it out, i thought the soltion wasn't all that difficult, but it did look pretty nice. 7.5/10

@Jerbil, Thanks :)

Nice atmosphere. Good use of the emancipation grills and the single portal devce. I found it a good level of difficulty, took me a couple of attempts :p

An OK monoportal map. It was a tad on the easy side.

Very good, thumbs up. I would rate the difficulty higher than mechtakendall because, like LPChip, I keep forgetting that the fixed portal stays open when I walk through a fizzler.

Nice and easy, good puzzle. Design 8/10 Difficulty 2/10

Great map! Cheers!

A solid use for single portals and fizzlers and light bridges. Quite fun. Great atmosphere and behind-the-scenes work.
LPChip 18 Feb, 2013 @ 8:48am
Very good map. You tend to forget that you can walk through fizzlers while keeping a portal on the other side.

its hard and fun

Genial map! And very fun! Thumbs up!

Pros:
• One-Portal based gameplay;
• Plenty to do;
• Fun surprises;

Cons:
• Overall aesthetic's a bit uninspired;
• Lighting's a bit off;
• Use of Portal 2 campaign content always feels like a retread, because it is;
• Didn't notice the second bridge;

Thoughts:
Diamond in the Rough
Unpolished, but far from underdeveloped: map is surprisingly adept at guiding the player through its placement of items; a nice cherry on top of the already tasty, if unwieldy, portion served.

good map.
good single portal puzzles.
in fact, unsolvable, with double portals (due to fizzlers).
good end of 1st chamber.
but I am not paying for a new door.
nice to hear Glodos.
preferably on her deathbed.
only joking.
when I say only joking.
good puzzles.
the 2nd chamber had me thinking (with portals)
thankyou

Neat little puzzle. I like puzzles that use the single portal device. It tells me the mapmaker thinks with portals.
Baggy 21 Sep, 2012 @ 8:20am
Liked it. Very good puzzles and nice surprise in-between. Thumbs up.

First I was like "Oh another boring puzzle. Why did I download this?" Then, the twist :D I liked the part where you enter a section outside the chamber, but then the like went away when it simply led to another boring chamber. If you're gonna do something like this, either make the 2nd chamber harder or make an outside puzzle.

another great puzzle! thanks man :)

Thanks Sunastar, im busy working on my next map which will hopefully be even better ^_^

Exceptional puzzle.

Well the Contest is over, I got 19th of 36 (though 5 got disqualified) xD Thanks to everyone for all your positive feedback and suggestions. Shall fix the last bugs in this and I have some plans for my next map, will hopefully keep improving. Thank you!
Mr Vapour Waterhandle 5 Aug, 2012 @ 2:47pm
Ahh well if you have time, perhaps after the contest, you can perhaps add the 'congratulations you've managed to trap yourself' message instead, and then spawn a new cube or something.
LoneWolf2056  [author] 5 Aug, 2012 @ 2:31pm
Thank you, the button does have a use, its meant to only work if you trap yourself by leaving the normal cube on the other side of the goo and then destroying the laser cube.
Mr Vapour Waterhandle 5 Aug, 2012 @ 10:50am
It was nice, bit of thinking involved throughout, not too much, though getting the lazercube had me stumped for a while... even though I've used a similiar puzzle myself (well it's an obscure alternate way for two of my maps)! The unexpected detour was a nice touch. I think you can probably get rid of the button near the regular cube dropper in the final room. It didn't seem to work and that seemed to be 'convenient' for the puzzle. So I'd just get rid of it.
LoneWolf2056  [author] 3 Aug, 2012 @ 4:46pm
Thanks, yeah lighting is definitely something I need to work on in hammer.
SqueeBat 3 Aug, 2012 @ 4:37pm
Very nice map. I like the triggers and the puzzle quite a bit. Single portal maps aren't easy to pull off right. Had me pausing to think a bit. My only fuss is some of the lighting in the BTS area is rather bright and drowns out the fixtures they're in. Other then that, very good work.
LoneWolf2056  [author] 3 Aug, 2012 @ 1:49pm
Ok, I think I have fixed all the known ways to trap yourself, unless someone finds something new :p
LoneWolf2056  [author] 2 Aug, 2012 @ 6:17pm
Have updated, think I have fixed most of the ways it was possible to get trapped as well as some other tweaks
Known Issues: If you emancipate the laser cube and then move your portal, you will trap yourself.
LoneWolf2056  [author] 2 Aug, 2012 @ 7:27am
Thanks for your feedback and suggestions, im working on an update at the minute :p
tanger2b 1 Aug, 2012 @ 8:42pm
Nice puzzles, but I got trapped twice by throwing the cube across the gap. A button would be nice. Also, out can jump on top of the stairs and down to the button of the pit. A trigger_hurt would work for anyone that gets there. I could also jump to some other catwalks and get stuck. And some unaligned textures. But I liked the puzzle and I especially love single portals maps. Keep up the good work. Should upload a solution soon.

Great work!! The first puzzle was great, the bts area looked awesome and the last puzzle was alrite, I didn't like how the second laser shut of when you got the lasercube into the first room, I see how it's neccesary for the puzzle to work but it is not very logical. Also a small note is that maybe you should change the indicators for the 2 cubebuttons so it better shows that when both are pressed the enddoor opens, it had me heavily confused for about 10 seconds ;)

Another thing is that the difficulty may be a tad over easy maybe, atleast for most PTI-players who have totally forgotten what a puzzle is ^^

Overall very nice ideas and very well executed, a great start for your first all-hammer map!
4/5
LoneWolf2056  [author] 31 Jul, 2012 @ 6:24pm
Thank you, I originally had the tide overlay just on the side but kinda wanted to make it look like it was eroding away the entire side of the panels.
Also changed the image to show one with the orange portal emittor, the bts area is kinda the surprise.
narkfestmojo 31 Jul, 2012 @ 5:43pm
Wow, this is really awesome work.

Only one incredibly minor issue, the tideline overlay is placed in the wrong area, it should be placed at the water edge (where the water hits the wall, not on the ground in front of the water.
But that's nit picking an excellent over all level.

One bit of advice though, there are a lot of... idiots publishing unmodified pti chambers using the hammer publishing tools to get the custom visuals tag. Those of us who like to play proper hammer chambers (like yours) won't even waste our time if the cover image looks like a fake pti chamber. I would strongly advise giving a cover image that shows your work isn't pti like some of the a4 arms or bts stairs and hopefully you'll get the attention a chamber like this deserves.
