I should probably update the thread a bit better for the non initiated in SE modding basics but basically, i can't do anything without source files unless you expect me to recreate the cockpit.

If anyone comes forward to take over, I'm not gonna say no. I don't have access to the original files but... The mods heart is the script anyway and everyone has access to it by simply unpacking. The model obviously has to be redone. Wasn't finished anyway and is bugged so...

What's the news on your pc? Or are you going to reach out to another modder to update and maintain your mods? Honestly, this was one of my favorite, goto mods, except the current small bug of the duplicating caonpy killed it for me. I hope everything goes well for you otherwise.

Vanilla canopy persists while modded feature is working. IE there is a open canopy, and a closed one at the same time

You know what the sad part is? I have almost 0 knowledge of C# and yet I managed to make this. A professional programmer, like say, the developer's could make this within a week that is fully fleshed out. Its morbid at this point since, ya know, almost everything is kinda resembling RL logic, and yet something as simple as this is really adds to immersion. And for a game that pretty much has nothing to offer aside building, this is really one of the small things that kinda has big impact and should not he shouted out to be made by devs or made by modders in the first place.

Lovely mod, doesn't work for regular gameplay as stated of course, but still very nice. I´d love to see this work for survival as it makes for some really neat lokking ships in hangar and such!

so it appears that now the cocpits are animated but the cannopy still remains when it opens

Can't seem to get the animations to work; I've tried through multiple avenues; buttons, cockpit controls, through the terminal. They don't open. Do I need to start a fresh world to get them to work properly?

the normal canopy of the cockpit is stiull there and a duplicate one opens up so the normal one is still there

My guess would be that it still remembers the old LODs for the cockpit, and loads those instead. Or something along those lines.

Im glad you fixed it!. :) Well, i guess Keen changed that too. Basically, if there were no LODS, the game would use the main mesh. As it was in early stage, i didnt at the time had any need for LOD. First on dev list was to make the open or closed state be saved and than make it so a player cant get out of cockpit unless opened or broken and than the nigg naggs and optimizations. Oh well...

Solved the 'two cockpit' issue. You don't have any LOD models to fit, basically. So lower graphics settings will show it all messed up.

The pilot being visible in maneuvers is a Keen problem.

Getting the same 'open and closed at once' problem. Only it's also impossible to fly from the cockpit, as the pilot's body starts to get in the way of the camera.

Large bug. causes random crashes from something along the lines of not assigning to an object or something related to that. had to remove the mod to be able to play for more than 5 min.

I really have no clue how this is happening just by thinking about it, could be that theres another cockpit mesh loaded at same time. Since its a custom mesh and custom xml to load them, i guess there is something outside of my mod that loads another cockpit on top of mine. So, in theory, you could try and find the xml and check if there is another entry besides the regular ones that match the name like in my mods xml, so deleting them should maybe fix it. Dont have the files so cant check. Of course, DO NOT delete them directly from the games directory. But copy it and make a follow up mod that disables those secondary cockpits. :'(

another idea i have in my special case is that i could go into the mod and remove one of the canopies. i dont plan to reupload if this is possible, i am looking to extract the mod to my computer for use in offline. if there is a simple way to do this, please let me know and how to do it. i have very little modding experience.

i noticed th same issue with the fighter cockpit appearing to have an open and closed canopy at the same time. i think it has something to do with the functionality to switch the hinge. it is likely showin the animations for both canopies, therefore resulting in the bug. is it at all possible for another modder to pick up this mod to fix this bug? i've been looking for something like this for a while now, and it is so close to being perfect.

not sure if this is known or not but when i get in the cockpit i see it already closed but its also closing, as in theres two visible, one already closed, one closing. note, this is only in 1st person, works great in 3rd.

Yes, the cockpit doesnt have a airtight or not functionality, they are inherently airtight by default. Thats how the game works. It could be possible to disable its air supply with a script to simulate like it isnt airtight anymore when its open but since im out of modding due to my PC being broke, cant continue its development.

Well, i updated the description. Sadly, i'm unable to do anything about it anymore since by PC is dead. It will take some time to get enough money to build a new PC. Oh, sad days ahead. T.T

the orginal canopy of the ship will stay closed but spawn a second one that opens.

While I can see a canopy raise it also appears to stay in place at the same time, giving no appearance of an open cockpit.

Hi, good. Now you just need buyable internal LCDs for all Cockpits. 3 LCD per Cockpit are good. Then i can use your Mod. THX & best reguards!
