I highly recommend BIG: Helmetless Combat Perks! (a Better Improvements for Gameplay mod) with this.

This is so awesome. I hate how armor in fantasy games end up looking like a walking bread bin. This way I can level all the way to Dragon Armor (light) and there are variants (from fur boob tube to top and fur shawl) to choose from. Also the option to choose shoes or boots (armored).
Zetamax 19 Aug, 2022 @ 3:13am
Damn, came looking for craftable Fur Armour and this mod is exactly what i was hoping for, my ranger can level all the way up with fur armour now.
JohnJSal 23 Aug, 2020 @ 9:32pm
I always thought the model for the boots looked wrong somehow. Now I realize the mod uses the hide boots model instead of the actual fur boots model. Unfortunate.

One issue: having the Elven smithing perk didn't let me upgrade the Wolf Fur Armor at lower Smithing skill levels, but it did work for the Sabre Cat tier (Flawless at 57). Hopefully the next two tiers also work this way.

This mod is perfect! I love the look of the fur armor, which is a big part of why I like playing this character, but I was worried the armor wouldn't keep up with the leveling enemies. The ability to craft and upgrade leveled fur armor is exactly what I wanted, and this mod does it beautifully! Thank you!

Cloth variants should be under the misc section and leather under leather. Make sure the mod actually downloaded and is active. Check that it's checked in the mod tab of the game launcher.
Krockitt 20 May, 2018 @ 11:48pm
I am not seeing any of the armors show up as an option when at a forge. I have no smithy perks, but I should be able to see at least the cloth variant (which is what I want for my mage).
Brandybuck  [author] 29 Nov, 2014 @ 4:47pm
Each tier of armor needs a perk. For example, for Wolf Fur Armor you will need Elven Smithing. If you have no smithing perks, you should at least be able to craft basid Fur Armor under the Hides section, at any forge.
Feitan 29 Nov, 2014 @ 4:34pm
where do i craft the fur armor? im not seeing it in any of the steel or hide or wherever. Do i need a higher smithing skill to craft it?
Brandybuck  [author] 7 Jun, 2014 @ 12:12am
I don't know anything about that mod. It rather depends on how that mod detects what kind of armor you're wearing.
Derp Vader 5 Jun, 2014 @ 9:28pm
Is this mod compatable with the armor disguise mod?
Sir_Sethford 11 Mar, 2014 @ 6:29pm
Well either way, it's not a huge deal. I'm really enjoying playing with some actually decent fur armor, and being able to get that set bonus!
Brandybuck  [author] 11 Mar, 2014 @ 6:12pm
I've taken a look at this, and everything seems normal to me, all the right body locations, keywords, etc. Tried putting on various combinations, etc. Not sure why you're seeing this, but I suspect the bug is unrelated to this mod.
Sir_Sethford 11 Mar, 2014 @ 3:12pm
Not really sure what's changed since yesterday (maybe another older mod updated?) But now I can still equip 2 pairs of boots, but at least only 1 model now shows up at a time.

Either way it's an easy fix, just gotta make sure to unequip other pairs of boots when I want to switch.
Brandybuck  [author] 11 Mar, 2014 @ 12:24am
How odd, I'll need to look into it when I get a chance.
Sir_Sethford 10 Mar, 2014 @ 8:33pm
I'm not sure if anybody else has had this issue, but up until now I had been using the stormcloak "fur boots" with my character. Just downloaded this mod, made myself a pair of wolf fur boots, and equipped them. But now it appears (in-game as well as in the inventory) that I am wearing both pairs of boots! I guess it's nice for the extra armor bonus, but kinda looks wonky.
Tiggy's Best Friend 26 Jan, 2014 @ 12:45pm
The only problem I see there, is you can actually enhance Fur Armor to be better than, or equal to most armors at the workbench. It really doesn't change much. If I wanted to, I could make Fur Armor with 80-150 armor easily, that being said, working through smithing gives you the benefits to improve the armor already. Sorry, I just thought the mod allowed for fur armor with new designs.
Easy Redbeard 26 Jan, 2014 @ 4:40am
I love this Mod. Especially the cloth "armourless" fur - makes for a great Spellsword setup while RPing that the weather is cold. Lovely job.
Brandybuck  [author] 25 Jan, 2014 @ 3:16pm
The point is that it's fur armor that can be crafted at higher armor tiers. It's the reason it exists, no more, no less.
Tiggy's Best Friend 25 Jan, 2014 @ 1:59pm
The only problem I see with this mod, is that its only for armor bonuses. There is nothing special about the looks. I mean I would love to have seen some really cool looking armor. I mean the bear helmet isn't even a Stormcloak Officers Helmet... I mean come on... its a bear pelt hood... I am sadly disappointed.
Skyrim Hunter 22 Jan, 2014 @ 12:59am
Hey, does anyone know how I can make white fur armor. Like making it from snow bear or snow sabre cat armor.
Easy Redbeard 25 Sep, 2013 @ 12:31am
Many thanks, chap. Faendal shall be properly equipped forthwith. My complements.
biggestmexican 25 Aug, 2013 @ 11:01am
Two thumbs & done!
I'm a bit of a smart-ss but I honestly love your work. Be well.
Brandybuck  [author] 25 Aug, 2013 @ 10:48am
Actually I am kinda busy. So you'll need the console to temper your hide armor all the way up to "Hide Armor (elite)".
biggestmexican 25 Aug, 2013 @ 12:11am
Of course, if you're too busy, I could temporarily console command my smithing perk up and improve my hide armor myself and stop bugging you :)
biggestmexican 24 Aug, 2013 @ 5:33pm
Man, good call. My main character's been wearing your Stoutheart armor for months & loving it but I want to retire him & play a different rougher barbarian. This will help.
Now, entirely aware that you don't work for me, I want to request a similar treatment of the hide armor.
Someday. I can wait. How's tomorrow looking? Thanks.
eastslip 22 Aug, 2013 @ 3:44pm
great mod for us hunter, roleplayers.......thanks
Dad 13 Aug, 2013 @ 5:55pm
I love you.
Crawl 7 Aug, 2013 @ 2:32pm
great for hunter playstyles
karl 20 Jul, 2013 @ 10:22am
Thanks for this mod, I've always wanted to be able to craft and upgrade fur armour.
Lawaern 16 May, 2013 @ 12:43am
hmm tell you what ill humor you and give it a try
Brandybuck  [author] 15 May, 2013 @ 5:50pm
There are already fur shoes and gloves. They are the same fur shoes and gloves bandits wear. As an alternative I have also included fur boots, which are modeled after hide boots. There are Stormcloak boots called "fur boots" but they are different. They do not match this set well so I did not use them.
quandarian 15 May, 2013 @ 8:07am
What a neat idea! I usually use heavy armour because I don't like the light armour looks so much, and this really opens up a new playstyle.
Lawaern 14 May, 2013 @ 10:52pm
can you please model the boots after fur boots and gloves after fur gloves (if not already) because they look more fur like because I wear this armour to look like im warm aswell as th character being a hunter also karate kid the new fur armour doesnt work with disguises i tested it
karate-kid-007 12 May, 2013 @ 5:57pm
Is this compatable for the "Armor Disguises" mod? I really like the concept of making fur armor that is stronger, but I worry that the disguises won't kick in.
;;;; 11 May, 2013 @ 1:15pm
just what I needed. thanks!
JackJackAttack 2 May, 2013 @ 8:08pm
okay thanks
Brandybuck  [author] 1 May, 2013 @ 10:54pm
Nope, no conflict with Frostfall. It treats them as standard armor though, you don't get any extra protection from the elements.
JackJackAttack 1 May, 2013 @ 10:45pm
does this conflict with frostfall?
Tzelik 3 Feb, 2013 @ 2:20pm
Bummer. Thanks for the response.
Brandybuck  [author] 3 Feb, 2013 @ 1:10pm
Nope, not this set. It would be pushing the bounds of credibility to make them heavy. Too bad there is no medium armor in the game, as these good be used as Solstheim style wolf armor.
Tzelik 3 Feb, 2013 @ 11:00am
Does this include any Heavy variants? I love the fur models but I'm a sword and board kind of guy :p
lloydmcdivitt 2 Feb, 2013 @ 1:33pm
Thanks,I'll take a look.
Brandybuck  [author] 1 Feb, 2013 @ 9:47pm
Hmmm, I don't have any weapons in this set, but it might be worth putting in my Stouheart Weapons mod. If you want a more banditry look though, check out the bow in my Forsworn Gear mod.
lloydmcdivitt 1 Feb, 2013 @ 7:25pm
Would you consider doing the same thing for steel wepons, the Imperial bow being steel.
Brandybuck  [author] 7 Jan, 2013 @ 5:11pm
Added cloth version of the armor for you mages out there.
Patrick F. Landrum 13 Dec, 2012 @ 3:32pm
