In the mean time, and what I do, is use the Tree and Vehicle Props mod (combined with the Tree & Vehicle Props Patch mod) to convert trees into props, which will allow you to place the prop version of trees, then elevate them.
Note: If you leave the placed prop version of trees without converting them to PO (not necessary to do), when you load the game the next time, the Loading Screen Mod (LSM) will report each as 'missing' even though they aren't. It's just how the game (or LSM) 'sees' the tree props and doesn't know what they are. Trust me, it works great.

Thanks anyway for your awesome work. I wish I could use this mod. But as long as every savegame destroys my work, its unfortunately not possible to use it. :(
I can confirm that. Let's be patient and wait for an update. BloodyPenguin must be really busy to update all his great stuff.
The "flying" trees is not a real issue (that what happens if you change terrain and the mod option is enabled. Cmon people).
The REAL issue is that with this mod, placing roads will NOT remove any trees anymore, EVEN if Tree Anarchy is OFF and road collision is ON. Removing this mod made all work normal again.
