Yeah… not too sure about this one.

The core, key mechanic is interesting, sure. And it’s something very different to anything I’ve ever encountered in any No Elements puzzle before - or even any community chamber, for that matter. I’m surprised I got that part of it in under 5 minutes having never seen it before.

At first I thought it was a dumb exploit, and really wanted to believe it was - until checking the comments and seeing this was most likely intended.

I mean, fair enough, there’s only so much you can do with black and white surfaces, momentum, and a portal gun. But I’m torn.

A part of me really likes having discovered a novel technique on my own, and the other part of me that yearns for “pure-logic” puzzles feels this is a major gimmick that’s fatally unintuitive given that I feel I’ve seen gratings that bumped the portal so you couldn’t split it like that . Maybe I’m wrong though.

Overall? I’d still say this chamber is more “good” than “bad”. I’ll also say the excessive grating can be a little “grating” on the eyes (no pun intended), but most of the rest of the puzzle was fairly interesting, and I like how you have to do the weird thing twice .

At the very least, unlike most gimmicks, this one’s easy to execute. So I’ll give you that. Maybe an introductory chamber where the only obvious way to proceed is doing such would’ve been preferable.

Enjoyed: 6.5/10

doesn't work anymore fsr, unable to make the jump from the second level (as in 2 levels up from ground) to the platform above the entrance. instead i just smack into the thing. i need to be about 1/2 a player's length higher for it to work, which is not something i can achieve right now. I already tried jumping (as in pressing the spacebar), but that did not get me high enough.

Took me a bit to see how the grating was being used cleverly here. It was a little gimmicky but there I had no execution problems and it was forced at the beginning so I think it was a good use of the mechanic.

Fun map. A certain move is a bit gimmicky, but I still enjoyed it. Thumbs up.

I like your No Elements (2) and (3) very much, but I don't like this one due to the usage of grating. It feels a bit cheaty for me, but the ending is still nice.
