I love this, I have actually been to the battlefield, and love seeing this. Also Earl Van Dorn was an idiot.

@Paul

You are completely right. I fixed the description ^^.

Im not sure if theres a mistake of some kind here, but the Battle of Pea Ridge took place in Pea Ridge, Arkansas. :D Of course, that doesn't mean there wasn't battles in Pea Ridge, Alabama (there's like four Pea Ridges in Alabama according to Wikipedia, but none of them mention any Civil War battles).

@The Cure - try ACW Mill Spring - there is a dominating ridge in the middle of the field with a fence line which is garrisonable

If you want to make pics and vids on my maps you could edit them by yourself using TeD to achieve the looks you need.. As long as you don't publish them as your work i'm totally ok with that :) - if you got questions just pm me.

I mean yeah you can simply place them behind the fence, but if they are garrisonable it looks better (they're a lot closer to the fence) and the first rank takes a knee. All the fences don't have to be like this (as you point out), but from playing this and your other maps, I have not found any fence that can be garrisoned.

I'm trying to do a Gettysburg pic set, but having trouble finding a good day 1 map. I'm using Bottleneck for the retreat through town, but lack a good ridge map with garrisonable fences. I'm actually having to use your Bull Run map for the ridges (Seminary, Oak, etc).

@Commander: Yeah, the current Gettysburg map is too small adn uses Vanilla models, so the town (and bridges) are Japanese. Plus the detail isn't up to snuff. Devil's Den for example is pretty meh on the map, especially compared to the Napoleon version of Gettysburg.

oh that makes sense too

In fact its really easy to make the fences 'garrisonable'. But i want to use this feature for very important strategic points only - like the sunken road at antietam, or the hornet nest at shiloh. In general fences offer always a slight protection when your men are placed behind one.

@the cure I agree with both those comments. Honestly I like the gettysburg map but it needs to be bigger to be realistic.....
The Cure 25 Feb, 2017 @ 12:14pm
One request though, can you make the fences like walls, where you can set the men up behind them. There's a map called bottleneck that uses the ACW building models and it has this feature on all the fences, walls.

Keep making these. We still need a good Gettysburg as well.
